Hahaha, yes we make a few racing cars in our time...
We paint racing cars too you know, even the carbon bits!
Most motorsport relies on a healthy dose of bullsh*t as well.
Fablon is another way to colour parts with less weight than paint.
Seriously though, the mirrors still have the glass and motors, so the weight loss is tiny. Think I will stay with normal RS2 for now and just get one RH part! If I wanted full racing spec I would fit CFRP housings (hmmm we have a pair of DTM A4 housings here at the works...) and use plastic mirror with no adjusters, get them setup and just bond the glass to the housing. Minimum weight!

True, true!
But I think it is a shame to paint such "details" wich is real carbon made even in racing! If it is a whole hood (streetcar), then it would be something else, as it's depend on the total look of the car and the carcolour aswell.
Ofcourse you dont save alot on carbon mirrors, but they do look nice, and if wight and racing are the only thing on your mind then these would not be the right mirrors as you say.
But for us "slipperwagon-racers" this is a nice discrete() tweak.
These mirrors on a black rs2.. oh dear! that have to be awesome!
