Just so you all know jays car is now with us in leeds bought it lastnight tidy motor.Does any1 know if this has been chipped as it was holding up against our 4.2 v8 S4!!!Beautiful purple too.

That colour is called Byzanz. It's an optional colour available at the time of purchase from a range called "Lifestyle"
I really really wish I could find a lifestyle supplement that came with the S2 brochure back when they were new, rocking horse s*** is an understatement. My local dealers really tried to find one, but drew a blank. Audi UK themselves were about as helpfull as a poke in the eye.
IIRC the range was available from very late 1994 untill the end of the production run in 1996.

2/ Cricket Green,
3/ Kingfisher Blue (also known as Pelican Blue)
4/ Aqua Marine metallic,
5/ Melange Orange (more commonly known as Sunburst orange)
6/ Isis Red metallic
7/ Maya Yellow
8/ Liquid Blue metallic
8/ Akojasilver metallic
9/ Cosmic yellow.

As for interior combo's, I would have thought any of the normal combinations offered at the time.

My car has Ecrue cream leather, cream carpets, cream leather inserts on doorcards, black dash/trim along interior cills and carbon dash/door trims.

My brothers Kingfisher Blue S2 Coupe has black leather, black carpets, black leather inserts on doorcards, black dash/trim along interior cills and walnut dash/door trims.

@ MadS2, best combo I've found to REALLY bring the colour out, is meguiars #2 polish, Klasse all-in-one sealant with a top coat of P21S carnauba wax. When the sun catches the car on a late afternoon when it's low in the sky, it really comes alive.

No idea if it's chipped, sorry.

other question...you mention in
#1) Byzanz Purple that the FA lists it as "Violet"..I know that the US version lists color codes on it. Is there a chance you or someother chap could scan that page & link it here?? I'd owe you or whomever a frosty pint.

I don't have the European FA only the US version. I just need to know the color codes for the different colors of the S2/Rs2's. Weather there sedans or Avants.

I'll be adding to my project thread here. But the short of it is I'm buying a 90 CQ US model & putting a 2.6l 20vt Euro van/AAN 600whp motor in it. So I wanted to paint it an unusual..or out of the norm color & have just seen a bunch of these cars with different colors since I joined the list. I showed
a pic of you'r car to my wife last night & she loved the color. So just trying to find one we both can live with. Hell she's letting me spend a LOT of $$$$ on this motor. But she's a car girl.

But if you know of a web site that the specs on these car..that will usually tell you the paint codes & options these cars came with...that would be fine as well.

I might have that supplement or at least the last year brochure with the lifestyle coupe options. I will check !
Oh and to be a pain its 'BYZANCE' Still think its the top coupe colour. To think I wanted a Ragussa coupe when I went looking. However back in 1997 they were as rare as 'hens teeth'.

Thank you...But the codes you sent me I could have gotten from my US verision of the FA. All standard colors in the States!

ALSO; Some confusion over the orange colour, gets called Sunburst, could be whats written above or Inca Orange Metallic = L0D2,

There was also another, only ever seen it twice, once last year at Castle Combe on a 2.6 V6 Coupe in the car park and on a Cabriolet sold on ebay 4 months ago.
Was called Duck Egg Blue, very weird, very light coloured minty green/blue. No idea as to colour code.

Numbers 1-2-3 and the Duck egg blue are definate Lifestyle colours, all the rest have been gleaned from the net over the last two years and I can't confirm if they are true.
As said, lifestyle supplement is "rocking horse" to get hold of, so I've no way to confirm.
I did have pictures of Aqua marine, Duck Egg Blue, Isis (magenta) Red, Maya Yellow and the orange, but they are in my gallery on audifans.net and it's currently down for maintenance.

Oh and to be a pain its 'BYZANCE'

Don't know which way to spell it. I've spelt it byzance before and have been pulled over it on here, correcting me to byzanz.
FA shows it as >>CLICK ME Would be nice to know how to spell it right.
