A mate has one of those, one of the prodrive specials, a great car for not a lot of money. Surely a good investment too I would have thought.

They are good value for money just now, this is a Prodrive one, so 265PS, 348NM, 0-60 4.8s. STI parts a readily available and cheap, STI turbo, injectors, intercooler, exhaust, remap etc gives a bolt on 310-340bhp.

I had never considered one before, maybe insurance was dear or I just didnt want a "chav" car. I saw somebody on classic-audi selling one and realised they were cheap, awd, and turbo, just the ticket for me right now.

Good fun so far, interior is cheap/plasticy, feels a bit basic, doors feel so light when you shut them, more like a civic than an Audi. Drives like a big awd go cart, feels so nimble compared to Audi b3/4/5/6 I have had, almost feels a bit darty until you settle to it. AWD system seems to work nicely, can put the power down out of corners like a quattro.

Engine appears generally straight forward to work on, bodies seem to be made of bean cans and rust away.

Glad to be back in a turbo awd, rwd can be fun but I find it frustrating to go fast, and just annoying in low traction situations. Turbo power delivery just feels better than NA revs for me.
