I have an AAN tool from the net a few years ago and only used it recently and it made 'locking' the engine when doing the timing belt a 'joy'.

Everyone who doesn't have one of these tools for their respective engine type should buy one, it is so well worth the money.

Even if you can't do the timing belt yourself you'll have the correct tool for your mechanic. It will stop them damaging your gearbox or crank trying to improvise.
