S1 Evo II exhaust manifold for sale

Original Lehman S1 exhaust manifold for sale in perfect condition.

Due to desirability, rarity and history and uniqueness it is not going to go at a giveaway price.
To put into prospective I know someone on this forum that paid 2300 Euros for one slightly damaged.

I have cleaned all up now and looks like new, the pictures are before it was cleaned.

Only genuine interested people please PM me

                Aelred,

Hanlon is probably interested if you haven't yet emailed him. He was trying to buy mine for his SQ rally car which has one fitted without the umluft piggyback piece.
We're tracking down the history of those plugs in the flange. Seems as they're done in Lehmann's shop under orders from Audi to remove the umluft on All S1 engines that pass through in order to protect some proprietary potential design. Do you still have the piggy umluft flange?

Worth every bit of 2300E IMO. good luck with the sale.

                  James,
The Umluft flange is not with the manifold, unfortunately, I was thinking of having one made, but I have no sample to copy.

Right, I was talking to Hanlon, I think his is missing as well.
Might be worthwhile to make a few copies of what I have to restore these beauties. Even if not used, its a damn fine conversation piece. I wonder if Lehmann still has these bits in his shop or knows their whereabouts.

I was directing Hanlon to yours since it wasn't repaired and I thought(incorrectly) that it had the umluft.

He bought Michelle's SQ pike's peak car which was formerly an 84 Euro rally car.
It then went to Buffum here in the US and then to Bruno. I think it was kept on the downlow here due to federalization concerns. I.e. most people didn't know it even existed here in the US and it was kept under covers or rumors that it burned. If discovered with legal entry into the US, it could have been destroyed. So I think exporting it was a safe bet. Either way, The story goes that the engine was sent back to Lehmann for an overhaul and it came back with the umluft gone and those nicely done plugs welded into the holes. It has a SQ style intake manifold with 3 injectors per cylinder with an S1E2 exhaust manifold like my car!!! Amazing as I thought my car was a freak hybrid of my own design. My manifold and others are all done the same way from what I have seen. The manifold is inconel based on my repairs to mine. ITs an exotic alloy and definately not Stainless steel. The plugs are extremely hard and probably the same stuff. I went through many many cobalt HSS bits to drill holes through them for the umluft. Also, the O-ring that seals the turbo to the manifold is a helicoflex.

I also have a DXF of the 20 bolt flange suitable for making a copper EM gasket. Any common head will need about 3 extra head bolts machined into it.

                    Good Luck,
                    James

They are still in containers in Corpus Christi.
