Who thinks we should have the dibs rule for ebay items
The 'dibs' rule
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any member can post a link to an ebay item and call dibs i.e. they are stating that they are intending to bid/buy that item, this member is the dibser.
We have a gentlemans agreement here that who calls it, gets it and no-one will bid against them.
Sometimes of course a certain item may be sought after by a number of members and the '*******' rule comes in to play. A competing member must reply to the dibs post with 'You *******!' in the message body thereby signifying his/her intent to bid against the dibser. When the ******* rule has been called it is recommended that all parties communicate by PM to discuss maximum bids etc. This helps stop one member causing the auction price to go unnecessarily high.
Obviously we can't/don't enforce this but because we pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere we hope you respect it
