S2 on Pistonheads, anyone know it?

    http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/141366.htm

I emailed the seller asking why the rear lights were different, he replied saying he didnt know what I meant?!

I then replied saying about the rear indicators being totally different, and got this reply:

I see now!I spoke to the
previous owner and he said it was replaced as it had a
crack and was replaced for the mot.

How can someone who claims its their "beloved S2" not notice or know why its got different lights?

    Doesnt sound right to me

I think the guy used to come on here.
The car had LOTS of problems and then blew up as far as I recall
Seesm like hes had the engine repaired though?

Do you think it would be worth a look at then?
The mileage puts me off more than anything, but if its definitly had a rebuild then I guess it should be ok

It seems it has. I know he spent a load on new bushes and suspension bits but Im very curious why he would decide to sell up after spending a lot of money on the car?
May well be worth a look though. His name is Dean iirc.
It depends what your budget is and what your looking for really?
For another £1500 you could be looking at a very clean lower miles ABY engined car which Im sure would be cheaper to run in the long run!! However this car already has a few nice tuning bits on it so its a tradeoff!

Yes, he replied to the emails as Dean.
My budget is about 4k, maybe 4200 at a stretch.
Im finding it hard to find any S2's for that money, let alone a good one

The car engine was rebuilt and I thought it was a good car but a forum sponsor of high regard have had a look at it and said it was in poor condition and it had problems with it as the rebuild hadn't been done correctly.

              I'd stay away.
