s2 nothelle for sale on ebay

Hi guys just reading through the thread and about my s2 which is on the bay at the moment.their is nothing atall wrong with my s2 and the reason being that it is relisted is that while it was on ebay at the end of january i caught glandular fever and ended up in hospital for 10 days and due to this i was unable to take any phone calls/reply to emails/questions about the s2.Now thankfully im alot better so i have relisted the s2.The rear light was replaced due to the original having a small crack and failing the mot.The car has never been crashed and has no mechanical faults. The truth be it is i have spent alot of money on this s2 getting it running as it should be and that unless i get the right money for it i will be keeping the car for my own use, but due to purchasing a new car,i would like to sell the s2.As for sevice history it has 21 stamps all from main dealers, as for the history of the car my uncle purchased it in 1992 and was the 2nd owner,me being the 3rd.I hope this answers any questions/varied opinions related to the sale of my s2.Anyone interested please phone me on 07900220803, or pm me, but pictures/description are on ebay.

Upon reading through further threads regarding my s2 i feel it in no way justified to jeopardise the sale of the car with false accusations with nothing to back it up.

    quote:
'Why would a Nothelle converted car not have sold on an S2 specific forum and have to be readvertised on ebay after already selling for 3k'?

    reply:
The car would have not been sold the 3k as it is easily worth more than that, also the it was not sold due to glandular fever.

    Quote:
'Bingo....even with all those nice nothelle bits on it...
    Its a shed...basically
If it was decent. like Jamo said, it would have sold months ago'.

    Reply:
The s2 is far from being a shed and the bills for the nice nothelle bits and suspension/running gear/electrical parts/engine rebuild, in no way justify selling it at 3k.The only faults i can see are 2 stone chips on the bonnet.I 4 screw holes in the coweling surrounding the gear lever where a handsfree was fitted.Oh and the rear light being a different colour as it has been renewed

    Quote:
I emailed the seller asking why the rear lights were different, he replied saying he didnt know what I meant?!
I then replied saying about the rear indicators being totally different, and got this

    Reply:
Im sorry but the fact that the rear lights on my s2 are different has never really worried me, is it not self explanitory that one is new?By all means do a hp check the reg is h456glf and see what comes up.I can assure you the the car is not a right off/been repaired and anyway.

    Quote:
The car engine was rebuilt and I thought it was a good car but a forum sponsor of high regard have had a look at it and said it was in poor condition and it had problems with it as the rebuild hadn't been done correctly.

    reply:
The car has only just had the rebuild and to my knowledge no forum sponsors have look at the car since the rebuild. The rebuild WAS done correctly by a mechanic which i have employed for 7 years as a mechanic and i have alot more faith in the rebuild being carried out by him over main dealer especially when he is servicing/repairing machines of mine costing upwards of £50000.He is a qualified mechanic working from his own workshop and to assume the 'rebuild had not been done correctly' is unjustified.it has no evidence atall to back it up.By all means come and visit me, speak to the mechanic. Also i was present through out the entire rebuild, which to me is worth alot more than leaving it at a main dealer and not knowing whats going on??

i hope the above sets the record straight as it has upset me reading through my threads and to see how people can jump to conclusions without no evidence whatsoever to back it up.Just to finish i will replace the other rear light so they are both the same. The front indicators i have replaced with clear ones as can been seen in the pictures but i still have the originals, the same with the side indicators which i have replaced with green side repeaters.Anyone still with any doubts about my car please
    phone me on 07900220803,
    phone my mechanic on 07715899586,
BRM motorsports as they carried out the conversion:01926451545
Whitehouse dartfordas they serviced the s2:01322 277231
Quattro sports as they also serviced the s2/fitted the alcon brakes:01444451542
    My uncle the previous owner:07712255694
or do a hp check the reg is H456GLF or maybe RFP1 as it has been on private number plates.

I hope this answers a few questions any further questions please ask,im sorry for having to do this but it only seems fair for me to have my say after reading though the threads relating to my s2 and finding some of the quotes unruly.

It must be upsetting for you to read bad press about your car. Unfortunately there have been a few duff motors on the market recently and I think everyone jumps to the conclusion that its a duff S2 given the low price.

      Good luck with the sale!

yes it does especially after all the blood/sweat/money that has gone into my s2,and the fact that none of it is in no way the truth but i hope now that i have set the record straight!I do not think i would get anymore money for the car than i am asking as it still is high mileage/3b/17 years old!although to me its worth 10 times what im asking!

          thanks again

Having read the original thread from last year about your misfortunes when following one rebuild and/or conversion, the oil light came on and a loud knock developed.
Could you clarify what was needed and/or was done ? small end bearings.

              well done

              Good for you Dean.

When I have advised cauction with a seller in the past it was based on facts which I double checked first with other sources and only said the bare minimum to allow other forum members to make up their own minds and offered further advice off line which wasn't all doom and gloom...

We must all take note and becareful with what we say and do on the forum and don't get on a miss informed witch hunt!

hope you sell her soon Dean

Words are only words at the end of the day. Someone respected needs to see the car to validate an opinion in either direction IMO.
But Dean has for sure spent a decent amount of cash on the car.
