Id rather see a bay thats not trying to hide anything and a bit grubby than a shiny freshly cleaned bay that manifests itself with a load of oil leaks 500 miles later after youve bought it and its sitting on your drive......
Engine bays are not supposed to be shiny people.

I beg to differ! ALL my cars have a shiny engine bay and it make is look good when you open the bonnet, stops connectors etc getting full of crap and allows you to easily spot oil and water leaks....

                          Cheers,

Nowt wrong with detailing your bay dude, think Pete was just making the very good point that if a bay look as this one does it means noone has jetwashed all the signs of leaks away and you can buy knowing there are not going to be any nasty surprises.

I know its hard to believe but ppl do all sorts of sneaky stuff to get rid of a pooch to some unsuspecting punter

Id rather see a genuine bay like that thats dusty and dry than one which has been freshly blinged up when looking over a car - makes finding leaks very easy.
And yes my bay is tidy and has been on all of my cars but for people to say a bay is rufffff when its a genuine unmessed with car makes me laugh...........
