    G60 calipers available

If anyone is interested in the Girling G60 S2 front brake calipers, let me know. I've got them going spare after my front brake mod. They've got a reasonable set of pads and a pair of steel brake lines with them too.

    You have a PM.
Going to be passing on the 2.3 coupe to a younger member of the family, and I just don't trust the little ******.
Am I right in thinking that these calipers will bolt straight on?? Have the two pot girlings on at the minute

Paul, the G60 is the same caliper fitted to the S2 and the 2.3 coupe. I have them on my 2.3 20v coupe.

I'm changing to Porsche caliper and having to swap hubs etc.

Unbelievable as it may sound, no it's not, it is a mere 2-potter. I think that's why so many people here have done brake mods, myself included.

                    Paul,
If you look acrefully the diagram shows a 2 pot sliding caliper. This is the G60 made by Girling, the other half of the caliper slides across and has no Hydraulic component.

It would be the same caliper on the Corrado. I have heard of it's use on Golfs as an improvement.

I think it should be called a girly caliper for it's stopping ability on Coupes. Smaller and lighter golfs would respond better to the G60.

The 2.3 10v only has a single piston Girling caliper (G54 I think) so the G60 from the S2 would still be an upgrade, albeit a slight one

Yep you are spot on Mike, thought they looked different to mine.
Was getting confused with 1 pot, 2, pot and so on. Was think mine were 2 pots when really they are only single piston.
Dan I would still like to have these from you if you haven't already sold them. I am worried sick that my nephew (who will be havin the coupe) is goin to chuck it down the road. Have quite abit of sentimental attachment to it, as I've owned it from new (bought it when I was only 19, with alot of help from me dad )

The S2 standard discs are almost unique as they have a 5x112 bolthole pattern and I'm 99% sure the 2.3 10V engined cars have a 4 bolt hub.

However, I'm also fairly sure there are 4-bolt versions of the 276x20mm disc that work perfectly with the Girling G60 2-pot caliper.

Consult a proper parts man first, as I'm going on memory here !

Sorry about the mistake, didn't think the 10v had a single pot caliperops:

My 20v has the same size disk i'm sure 276 x 20mm. this is 4 x 108. So AFAIK the disk is the same size.

I am swapping my 4 stud hubs so that I can use the S2 5 stud hubs. This is so that I can use big A8 disks< Porsche calipers etc.
The disks sizing ( other than studs/pcd) is the same I feel......

Obviously the 2 pot caliper was considered an upgrade by Audi for the 20V. I don't drive like a loony but I feel the brakes are totally inadequate for the vehicle.

Having had a Citroen BX I now judge all cars by the Citroen Brakes. It was all right apart from the fact it was French......
