That's a beautiful car - as we never got any B4 avants (nevermind any S2s) across the pond! From what I've read, pearl seems uncommon there? Quit odd considering you got the higher end S2/RS2s (as all B4s in the US were sedan and all had the 2.8L V6, although a good percentage of them are pearl). As a matter of fact, pearl was pretty common on all models from the late 80s through early '01 here. A very pretty color (and avant) nonetheless!

Yes, white, even in pearl styleee is generally not a popular colour of car here (with a couple of model exceptions) but over your way - and also Japan particularly, white has and is very popular...
Personally I really like the pearl, when its cleaned in good light it looks fantastic....

I wasn't a fan of white until I had my '95 90 quattro sport (which was Casablanca White), now my current '94 90 CS is Pearl and it has also grown on me, although the slightest bit of dirt and it looks like crap! Looks the best around dusk when the sun's going down. Either way I'm very jealous of all of you for getting the real quattros we weren't allowed to have!

All you see pearl on nowadays here are Cadillacs, Fords, Mercurys, Lincolns and other big 'mericun "luxury" cars -- usually accompanied by big chrome wheels, sometimes of the spinner type!
