I reckon mate, I would be taking a couple of days out to go and see this dude, and if it take a couple of hundred quid to go get your cash back or even to confront this dude then worth it IMHO.
Although, what no one has suggested yet, is that what if something has happened to Sweeper and he is genuinley incapable of getting back to you...(dont want to suggest why a person would be incapable of getting back to you)
Maybe a search of the a eastern european audi forums etc...
