    Group buy brake upgrade

Right im in the earley stages of gettin a SERIOUD brake uprgade for my audi S2, im well aware of Brembo and AP Racing with 330mm discs and good stoping power and allso ok for track days but as allways big aint big enough and im fed up of brake fade!!!!!

Im curently looking at 6 piston calipers runing with 355mmx35mm 2pc disc's(must have 18" wheels), every thing will be custom made, all parts will be new, NO fleebay 2nd handers!

The kit i am getting together will be full, right down to bolt's and washers, im allso looking to get them at a reasnobale price and i have asked for a group discount.

If the kit isnt stupidly expensive and i get a good discount on 3,5,10 or 15 sets, who would be in the market for such a monster kit?

P.S. im well aware of recent member running off with other members money (not pointing any fingers) since im not a well known member and dont know anybady on a personal level i will be more than happy to meet some members of the forum before we talk money, im just an S2 Nut wanting more and willing to help others in the quest for better performance parts, allso my goal is NOT to make any money here, im just looking at a way to make my upgrade a little less harsh on my pennies

I have not posted any prices yet simply bec' i dont have any, but sa soon as i know you will!

Please only post if your serious about this kit, im not after 'Kool' or 'great stuff' as a response!

thank you and i hope we get this going!
Probably the longet S2 project in history EVER!

Right good news on the upgrade kit, i have been given a guide price and it's very very competitive with other high end break upgrades.

He has quoted me that -- '350mmx32mm (for 18" alloy wheels) powervane racing rotors this would be a very seriuos kit with race quality stopping power'- -, basicly this is what im after, if i get enough intrest with this one i will definetly be looking at geting a serious upgrade for the back too, maby 330mmX32mm 4pots which will include a handbrake solution as i have not spoken to him about this yet dont get your hopes up on this.

As for price it will definetly be less (hopefully a lot less) than £1500 all in (vat & postage)!

I know you can get Brembo or Ap Racing calipers of auction aites, get cariers made etc, but this will be a brand new kit, with all the bits needed for the upgrade for a very reasnoble price!!!!!

And for you S2 nuts out side the uk this will not be a problem, you will have to pay more for postage obviously but i will send the kit any whare you like!
Probably the longet S2 project in history EVER!

      Hi,

Whilst this all sounds good, the forum will need to see pictures of the brake upgrades.

I also want to see details, name addresses and contact number of the person making the kit.

I would suggest if any members are taking part you club together and get quattro's address, contact details etc.

With the amount quoted do not pay the total upfront and any one paying a deposit get a receipt and proof.

Sorry Quattro but in light of recent incidents if you are genuine then the above should not be a problem.

I agree Jamo. It is good users arrange group buys to save on cash but scammers ruin it for alot of people

The "Brake Porn" kit is less than that - all new from recognised sources.
Check out the i trader link
I have a blank signed cheque from a forum member, which I have not done anything with yet (the kit is only just finished - postage to be worked out) - Does that make trustworthy?

Think there is enough of us on here can vouch for you mate, reminds me, i never managed to leave you trader rating for my calipers. Can you PM me with details of how to?

Mods are right to be causcious in light of recent events though, don't want this forum to turn into somewhere we all have to be suspicious of people.

@ Quattro, good work for sourcing a kit and spreading the word, don't take the comments personal. Just good practice to look out for each other these days.

Ah about time it became a kit , S2avant held monopoly on it for far too long!

I'm merely the pioneer. I don't hold a monopoly on my ideas and modifications. It's up to you lot to decide whether or not you want (or can afford) to follow my lead. Bry has smoothed the road and created a workable kit for the masses.

I do find it funny though that when my setup was first unveiled I was shot down for it being unsafe but when Corey does it he's revered as a god C'est la vie. I'm not in it for the fame or glory. I just want to see how far I can push the envelope in each area of my car. I've done the brakes and suspension for now, next is gearboxes and diffs.

Really? Any plans to get one of those stasis centre diffs as that would be VERY interesting pioneering work
