  • FS 1.8t conversion kit

    Hi all,

During the winter I made most of the wiring for the 1.8t coil conversion. it is including 5 new coils. I have adjusted the coils so they will fit in the valve cover of a aby/adu. I even have the valve cover somewhere but cant find it now(not included in the price)

    5 stuks 06B 905 115L € 27.80 5 27,8 139 165,41
    5 stuks 4B0 973 724 € 4.48 5 4,48 22,4 26,656
    10 stuks 000 979 133 A € 1.34 10 1,34 13,4 15,946
    25 stuks 357 972 741 A € 0.48 25 0,48 12 14,28
    5 stuks 6X0 971 921 A € 1.19 5 1,19 5,95 7,0805
    3 stuks 000 979 134 € 1.34 3 1,34 4,02 4,7838
    2 stuks PN 191 972 704 € 2.36 2 2,36 4,72 5,6168
    201,49 € 239,77

Total price was 240 euro. You can have it for 60 euro, I dont know if the wiring work but only the colils are 165 euro so I think you will have a good buy!

    please let me know!

    regards,

    Erik

It should plug into the ECU harness, in place of the POS. However, there should be another one, with three pins. Plus, although the re-gendered Jetta (Bora) III taillight connectors do work, the better solution is a four pin Volvo connector. Its exactly like the one end of the POS and the ECU connector will mate up perfectly. I have posted about that before.

Provided the wiring is good quality and the other ECU connector is there somewhere, the price is very good in my experience.

          And I developed the conversion.

That's always a good question to ask. A fellow on AudiWorld reported yesterday that his 034 1.8t coil kit had failed. All the coils were 115 J's which in my opinion was wrong. The kit should have had nothing less than 115 L's since they were the most recent coils available when I developed the conversion instructions. J's replaced the ill-fated H's but since L's were available, there was, in my opinion, no reason to use J's - especially since the marginal cost increase would be peanuts. 115R's are what is available now.
