It's an unfortunate fact of life that Cat D recorded murders re-sale values ( between 30% and 50%), regardless of current condition or how well repaired.

If it's cat D it hasn't been inspected post repair.

There is nothing wrong with buying a cat D car if the repair is good.

If the car is inspected by thatcham the cat d is removed from the HPI database and replaced with condition inspected.

If you buy it get that done and you'd be able to sell the car for more

this then takes the value up to 75-85 of original resale value.
