Brand New RS2 Gearbox

I have a brand new RS2 gearbox for sale. Part number 01E 300 043. It is also marked with the CRB code underneath to authenticate the part.

Retail at Audi is £4100 inc. VAT. I'm looking for half of this.

It's a lot of money, but anyone wanting to do a conversion like mine, this is a rare opportunity to buy at this price.

I don't like commenting on prices but a used gearbox for the RS2 will cost betweeen 400-650 pounds. You will be very lucky to sell this on here for that price.

This is a brand new`unused`RS2 gearbox... its gotta be worth £1000 to the right person... maybe a little more (ncts)

I guess the relative value will be determined by those who decide no miles is better than a used one. If i was doing a full restoration and was using new new parts then it would have value, most people I think would just want to check its in good nick and buy used on that basis.

£4100 as a dealer price just shows how out of touch VAG are on 10-15yr old parts, same as a £4500 new 3b rear diff for a car worth about the same value???????

Good luck selling btw.....you just never know someone might have £2k buring a hole in their pocket for a g/box

Agreed on all of this... Hoping for £2k for that item is maybe asking a bit much. Max price for a properly reco'd used one would be about £1k - £1250 so from that POV the new item at £2k looks expensive...

BUT then again - a properly brand new CRB box is a mighty rare item and must carry a premium price as it inherently has more value (in theory) than a rebuilt used item - especially if you don't know exactly what work was done during the rebuild of a used one.

I too will be watching this with interest as I am currently looking for an RS2 box. However I also came to the same conclusion as those above that I would wait for a 2nd hand one for £400 and recon it for £600.

If you fail to sell it and decide to drop the price closer to the suggested £1000 plus a slightly lower 'brand new' premium, then please let me know as I might be interested

Thanks for the comments guys - much appreciated. As you probably know I have a UR Quattro and I am used to being ripped off by the dealers and having to pay full price on just about everything, although it's not my intention with the price of this gearbox.

I rightly or maybe wrongly thought that half price would be a good price, but as you say it's a lot of money and at this price I'm looking for a certain kind of buyer.

Main reason for selling is that it is now an unwanted spare and I thought I'd give someone on here the opportunity. Will keep you all posted on how things turn out.

Purchase date is over one year ago, so no. All I can say is that it is brand new and has never been used.
