Looking for the link to that low mileage RS2 in Germany

The one that had about 400 km or so on it.

Search didn't work. Neither did Google

I'm hoping they keep the 15 yr rule alive but kill the RHD aspect. Too many Japanese cars coming in. The earliest build date I can find for an RS2 is March 1, 1994. Still more than a year away for the 15 year rule.

Right now, we have a list of cars newer than 15 yrs that are importable into Canada and another list that is banned (there is no real logic to this list, just a situation set up by Transport Canada and the manufacturers). For example a 95.5 (96 MY) S6 sedan can be imported from the US but a 95.5 S6 avant cannot (because of a lack of child seat restraint tether attachment).

However, once a car is 15 years old, anything can be imported, regardless of safety equipment, smog controls, crash testing, etc. Originally, this was thought to be a provision to allow in collectable exotic cars. However, since many cars in Japan are lasting this long, we are getting an influx of RHD cars, e.g. Nissan Skyline GT-Rs, which we never got in North America, can be imported once they are 15 years old.

On the Audi front, we did not get the S2 coupe or any Audi 80 Avants, let alone an S2 avant or the ultimate, the RS2. I bought a 98 C4 A6 Avant out of the States to swap in an AAN but between the time I bought it (Dec. 2006) and it was on the train from NY city to Seattle (arrived Jan 07), the British Columbia provincial government changed the rules on "Air Care" (smog control) so all OBD II cars (like the 98 C4 A6 Avant) would be hooked up to a computer prior to testing, to pull the codes. As a result, a non-OBD II engine like the AAN would be illegal. Hence, I am looking for an early build S2 avant or a 92 or early build 93 S4 Avant (all LHD), that I could import. The RS2 is just a dream.

The Federal Canadian government (Transport Canada) was making noises about a) banning RHD cars and b) killing the 15 year rule and going to a 25 year rule.

                Bugga.
