For Sale: MK2 Golf GTI 16v

Unfortunately it has to make way for a diesel. I can save over £150 a month with an oil burner.

    I will miss it

    Full details here:

    Cheers,

    Steve.

What oil burner are you going for? My brother in law has a polo diesel and that thing just keeps going and going on a tank...

Thanks, I am hoping I should get the full asking too...

I am looking for a Golf GT TDI, Passat TDI or Polo TDI.

My budget is £4k - £6k, and I guess ideally another Golf. I am only seeing 28 mpg from the valver, and reckon if I take it steady on the motorway I could see 55 - 60mpg. Its a massive difference when you are doing 20,000 miles a year.

I love the Golf to death really. Its so fast and nippy and still surprises some quick cars even today. The way the engine tries to break through the rev limiter is addictive...

      Cheers,

      Steve.

could pick up a quirky A2 for that price and they are not a bad drive with 70 odd mpg, just rock hard suspension and a pillar visibility being against it

Very smart and well presented car there Steve, good luck with the sale.

I can vouch for the 1.9sdi Polo diesel, my missues has one and she returns about 110mls to a tenner (cos that's how she guages it ) and that's to and from/around town.
It's funny though evey time i jump in it the thing need's diesel is it just me.

I suddenly feel like I'm late for the party...

Surprised you're not asking a little more for the 16v Steve - values seem pretty strong at the moment for unmolested Mk2s.
