Just in from work. Nothing new to report as yet. Too tired to think about it
Have to get up in time to wake the cockrels so they can crow so off to bed.

Decided that this wasn't the car for me after all. The price kept going up because there was "so much interest in it". When I told him that I was no longer interested, the price dropped back to £4100 which he said was the best he could do (still £105 more than the original asking price). The seller said yesterday that he would refund my deposit via paypal but nothing’s come through yet. Not holding my breath. You live and learn.Comment

I learnt a £100 lesson in the summer with another d*ckhead seller.

@ Gearjammer. DO NOT settle for a £200 scam. Talk to PH and if that doesn't work name and shame on the PH Forums, they love that sort of thing. If you don't get your deposit back, that's theft.
Good luck.

yeah Steve I agree totally with what you say but getting it back is not easy your not going to get any police attention cos they are all too busy with handheld speed cameras so you are only able to go via small claims court which is very lengthy process and u incur even more cost.
After i had all my probs with a duff peugeot 306, i decided that the car i bought in the end was at least £350 less that it should have been and counted myself lucky that i could absorb the cost that way. £200 is even more of an insult.
If it was me i'd probably just drop the police a quick call for advice but to be honest they are not likely to get the money back IMO. Could also try a letter suggesting a few days to return or xxxxx
Seller sounds like a total idiot playing with peoples time and walking away with their cash...t**tsigpic

Me too, I am only a slim lad but have some beefy mates. I think I would be looking for my money back or some retribution.

Contacted PH by email and will contact paypal tomorrow. We have a saying that money obtained dishonestly will have "no luck in it" so I take some solace in that. Most people wouldn’t dream of acting the way this idiot has. Told me the price had to go up because sooo many people were interested in the car. If he wanted an auction, he should have stuck it on ebay.Comment
