a sad day. I'm going to be leaving the country in the near future with work and as I don't want to leave my S2 in storage not being used I've decided to sell it on. I've really enjoyed owning the car over the last 2 years but all good things come to an end. I thought I’d put a post up here before putting it up on Pistonheads and Autotrader to see if anyone is interested.
Anyway, on to the details:
95 ABY Coupe in metallic emerald green (a lighter dark green if that makes sense!)
Un-modified, everything OEM
99,300 miles on the clock currently
Cream leather interior in great condition with the carbon trim
Electric Windows and sunroof
Updated CD head unit (Pioneer) with ipod connector in glove box
Taxed to August 2008
MOT til April (will consider getting this renewed prior to sale if a deal breaker)
As many of you know, I had a mis-hap prior to christmas with an overheating issue - the post is on here somewhere. The result of which was I had to replace the block/head in the car. The replacement engine was sourced from Sal on this forum and had come out of a 96 ABY with similar mileage (approx 100k I believe). As a result of some damage the AA did to the car when they picked it up, it's also had a new oil cooler and pipes and a new bonnet. All the work was done by TAP Audi in Iver and have receipts to the tune of nearly £3k for this.
Since owning the car, I've done about 12k miles in it and it has a full Audi dealer/specialist service history. Lots and lots of receipts as well. It’s also had new handbrake cables & callipers, new discs and pads and a couple of new tires in the last 12 months.
Anyway, I’ll post some pictures this weekend when I’ve had time to get out and take the photos, but an older picture of the car is used as my Avatar.
The car drives fantastically and is relatively low mileage. I know that prices have come down in the last few years, but I paid £7k for this 2 years ago and have kept it in good condition since, so would be looking for around £5.5k for it.
There are a couple of niggling issues with it, as with any of these S2’s. The main one is a problem with the oil pressure warning light on autocheck flashing permanently. TAP Audi think this is sourced to a problem with the dash as they have independently checked the oil pressure and it came out fine and also had an electrician check the wiring. I’ve driven the car for about 250 miles since getting it back from TAP and had no issues, but just have not sourced a replacement dash as yet.
I’m based in Central London (Wapping) if anyone wants to come take a look.

Lastly – I still have the old engine that came out of the car. I’ve been advised that I significantly underpriced this when I last advertised it on here. Also been out of the country for the last week so not had a chance to get back to people after the first wave of interest. Would be looking for around £350 for the engine and it would need to be picked up from TAP in Iver.
