Ha it got to £3950!!! But it was won by an Adrian isaacs who strangely enough bought a car from him in september last year!!?? Oh and has only ever bought ebay items from this seller......
I wonder if that could possibly be a mate or a fake ebay account to try and bump up the price? (call me sceptical if you will LOL!!)

Still at least nobody is stuck with a lemon..... Oh except for the current owner
    1995 S2 Avant
    Homefries,
    RS2 intercooler,
    996 monoblocks,
    Koni adjustable shocks,
    H&R springs,
    18" RS6 reps in anthracite.
    150K and running great

did you report it to ebay? that gets right on my ****. it's what a reserve is for.
I won an auction for an A4 last year and I asked the guy if it was ok to pay the full amount in cash or did he need a deposit. he replied to say it didn't got for enough so he wasn't going to sell it to me. and when I politely told him it was an agreed contract and he had agreed to sell it to me by listing it he got totally mental and went off on one. so ebay closed his account down. experienced user too.
sorry can a mod move this to the "big rants" section?

Just had a look. Are you sure it doesn't read Mr. Sucker, quite apt for a poor buyer given the comments about the seller !!!!

(Assuming he does actually manage to sell it to a proper buyer and not one of his mates.)

I'm so niave I actually messaged the "buyer" warning him to read some of the comments on here... I hadn't checked the buyer was himself a part of the dodgy sale.

What I hate most is that you guys on the forum know what to look for, but some less expereinced mug will end up believeing the bull and buying the lemon car.
          SOLD !

yeah but like me a real buyer will (if he has sense) join this forum and after a brief period feeling like an idiot and use the collective wisdom to put the car right. To be fair I didn't buy a lemon that was covered up. I bought a lemon with a big sign on it saying "Very lemony Lemon". (back end smashed in and I paid way too much cos I didn't realise the value difference in 3Bs and ABYs)

Well it sounds a bit fishy here too, but innocent before proven guilty and all that - if the guy is legit, then he will be asking question bout this yellow S2 he bought on eBay. If he doesn't show up then how the heck else will he get the car sorted.

Does someone have solid knowledge of a previous prang on this one and info on why it was a bad repair.

I don't get too upset about crash repairs as long as they are done properly. I used to have a mate in that trade and he was the hell for doing it right - it was amazingly hard to spot some of the joins unless you were prompted. A bodge job is often easy to spot but not always without some disassembly.
