Very fair, Vag com confirmed no faults.

Just stupid things let it down.

: Front under light trim was hanging off
: Door lock was black and not colour coded
: Door hinge was not bolted on
: Not clean at all so you could not tell the paint
: fuel pump wine, but he said it was a 044 (mines never been that noisy)
: door molds warping
: brake peddle a little soft / excess travel not bad though

It is an 044 pump. I don't know much about what happened to the car after Steve sold it but I do know it's been up for sale for a good while and that it's not in the same condition that it was when he bought it!

No, just wondered if there was anything I should worry about! I've been going there for 2 years with no problems to note.

the alloys are well scrubbed too, it looks like one of the passenger side springs has sagged as its definately at an angle to the top of the garage door frame and for some reason the front doesnt look right, the lights/bonnet and bumper are miles out of alignment.

Definately looks like you made the right move James. Any prestige car running on 4 different tyres has not been looked after IMO
