Gti Engineering re2500 engine (KV)

Just a feeler, as i may be doing an s2 conversion soon.

But does anybody fancy owning a RE2500 gti engineering engine?

Its based on the KV engine code engine.

It will come freshly rebuilt with:
Rebuilt head (receipts for over £300)
New rings.
New Cambelt
New Steel Headgasket
New Oil Pump.

for ref 82mm bore
94mm stroke.

About 170bhp 10v N/A. I have a magazine and some magazine cuttings detailing the engine, and the original gti engineering plaque.
It is definately rapid, very torquey engine!!

This is a feeler for what its worth. So make me a sensable offer. And if i get this s2 engine etc., then i may well contact you if you are genuinely interested.

This was available in the mid 80's for the 10V and produced 170bhp and 180Lb/ft with a good spread of torque, probably thanks to the fact that they kept the standard cam.
Was £2500 in the 80's, I know because I enquired after one for my 2144cc coupe Fi. That kind of lets you know how old I am

Drove a GTI engineering conversion in a red coupe quattro a few years back that I was looking at to buy .Pulled like a blooming train and sounded brilliant,so can deffo vouch for their 10v conversions.
Didn't buy because bodywork was minging.

There is a Red 7A just down the road from me with the GTI engineering touch.

my mates just fitted one in my old coupe ,paid 200quid off ebay he had to do some plumbing due to it going in the later shape with different manifolds and sensor positioning
looks factory fit though .

I would be looking for £490ish. I guess it has a pretty unknown value, but if i could get some money back on the head rebuild (£300) and all the rebuild parts (£230). Then id be pretty happy.

Just remembered, its had a recent clutch too! and also i can make available the quattro gearbox (v. good condition) to go with it.

KV block bored to 82mm
94mm stroke crank.
Custom rods
Custom Pistons (Accepts Fiat 20v Rings)
Baffled Sump

Ported and Polished Head (Rebuilt last year (only 1,200miles ago))
41mm Inlet Valves
35mm Exhaust Valves
10.5:1 Comp ratio (I think)

Runs 170bhp on K-jet (Standard Exhaust, Inlet and Cams)
Cant remember torque figures


Also has new Ignition leads and Plugs 1000 miles ago which will be included.
