Audi 80 in need of Replica RS2 Front Bumper...

    Yeah I know, it's not an S2, nor is it a V6 variant, but a 100k L Reg. 2.0 Sport...

I bought it off Ebay last summer, it was advertised as A1, but sadly fell rather short of my idea of a car in A1 condition... So after a little altercation with the owner I picked up a black Audi 80 with a full service history, and a nice looked after clean and mechanically sound motor for the princely sum of £500... But with a less than perfect exterior/interior...

Now I own a little bodyshop and tucked it away in the corner until I could get around to doing something about the sad state of the paintwork. So, after Christmas I set aside aweek to get the exterior in some sort of order... See attachment...

I've always thought the Audi 80's to be a bit lacking in the front Bumper department and out of all the various bumpers available the RS2 variety is the pride of the bunch, but finding a good second hand one is like looking for hens teeth and new one's are very cost prohibitive (Like £930 from Audi... ) So the only option is to get a replica...

    So can anyone recommend one?

I got a skin off ebay to add onto the original bumper but to look genuine you'd need to use a coupe bumper as a base so it sits out the right length.

Or speak to jay on here and see if his rs2 bumper is still for sale.

There are loads of cheaper options on german ebay (ebay.de)

I considered one for a while. They get advertised as RS2 style bumpers but i have always been wary as they are essentially audi 80 mods - not S2 mods, in other words they dont always have they extra length at the front to house the intercooler.
That wouldnt be an issue for you though. If you can try and find one that is TUV approved.

i'd never buy a fibreglass bumper myself, but there are plenty of replicas as Pete and Sadiq mentioned.

Try here for a genuine RS2 bumper for less than the stealer... still not cheap though

Thanks chaps for all your input, I see theres another thread started looking for the same as me, although there's now one for sale on Ebay already at £270... Too much for me...

There a Rieger RS2 front bumper with Porsche lights and made from ABS, I might take a closer look at one...

LHD_Kid (Chris) made a cracking modded bumper from a standard coupe bumper. might be to your taste and not too difficult for a man in your line of work?
