    '94 S2 Coupe for sale

    1994 ABY S2 Coupe
    £8000ono

    105000miles, FASH
    Emerald green Metallic
    Cream Leather
All extras (I think) except electric rear vents and heated seats.
    6 Speed
AMD rolling road remap to 280bhp (paperwork included)
New Suspension @80000miles (H&R springs, Billstein shocks, standard bushes)
    Refurbished Alloys (less spare)
Sony head unit & 10 CD changer.

It includes a file with all receipts from myself and the previous owner. Also in the file are all the sale documents, from all previous owners (4 including me).
It is a really good car that I will be sorry to let go, I am unfortunately working abroad and it sitting for a long period of time wil not do it any favours.

As I had to move abroad at short notice Walkers Garage in Northallerton (North Yorkshire) have kindly agreed to sell it for me. Contact them at www.walkersgarages.com, or see the car (via autotrader.co.uk) at topmarques. If you want to contact me direct then I am on email at behrichards@aol.com.
I hope it can go to a good home.
    Cheers, Ben.

Sold it . But at least I got as much as I had hoped. I enjoyed the car, but got ot the point where the nearest expert who could actually work on the car (that I knew of) was 200miles away. Audi Dealers expertise on these cars was found sadly lacking on a number of occassions. If I lived in the South/ South East I would probably have held on to it. It seems to have gone to a good home though. Have enjoyed being a member of the forum, Cheers Ben R.

Hi Mate, I'm new to this forum but have been with Audifans.net for a while. I have a Cab(95) at the mo and have just put her up for sale as I am looking for an S2 . I live in Hurworth(nr Northallerton) and would be interested in any opinions/views re: Buying/Owning an S2 . There seems to be a few mistreated ones out there, Is it best to buy 3B/ABY? An expensive but immac. one? A cheap one then spend the money on it? All views are appreciated.

In short the,ABY is considered better.
Get the best looked after one you can afford, regardless of whether it's a 3B or an ABY,believe me you dont want one that needs loadsa work unless your a mechanic,as it could end up being a money pit.
That said i have had my 3B for a couple of years 191,000 miles and she is still sweet, they really are great cars and rare.
            Good Luck.

              Hi,
I totally agree, you should get the best one you can afford. When I got mine I took it to an Audi dealer and they inspected it, not an engineers report, but they are at least familiar with the cars. From that I was able to negotiate a price.
The prices seem to be all over the place, form 5ish to 15k. It seems you have to go and see as many as possible and pick the best. A warranty is definitely good for peace of mind, but not many come up through dealers/specialists any more.
Most have had something done to them now. Where parts have worn out they have been replaced by uprated ones and many brakes and engines have been upgraded. As far as I was concerned that didn't matter as long as the work was done properly and didn't ruin the driveability of the car.
As I said in my previous post, part of my decision to get rid was the lack of decent specialist support in the North East / Yorkshire (I live in Richmond when I am at home). If you are willing too make an annual pilgrimage to one of the well established Audi specialist down south then it is a hard car to beat.
I read all of the info I could here and on S2 central before I started shopping. There is a vast pool of knowledge out there, people who are even willing to accompany you when looking at a car if they can. Well worth tapping into.
Something to consider (as you probably know from owning your cabriolet) is the cost of putiing Audis right. Mine was really reliable but the few thing that did require sorting were expensive. Specialist parts tend to be quite expensive too as they are rare.
In short you should shop around and get the best late model one you can, with as few problems as possible. You should then have a subtle, relaible rocket ship that will eat motorway miles withou even blinking.

I've got my eye on a one owner from new S2 on a 'K' with 122k miles with full history. It's £8k. You see newer ones for the same money. But this is a 1 owner.

Cheers. I thought it was expensive but it's 1 owner , in a dealership (I've got a p/x) and it's in pearl white. Yours seems decent but I'll have to get rid of my Cab first. I'll let you know.

There doesn't seem to be a rule for pricing an S2. I've just seen a 1994 S2 on the Autotrader for £11k with 84k miles with no a/c. Buying an S2 seems to becoming a minefield.

People who buy S2s have already made up their minds that that is what they want. Its not as though they are browsing and suddenly go "Oh - I think I'll have that one"
The cars are also rare enough that (within reason) the seller can name his price and get it. When I bought mine, the seller steadfastly refused to budge from his asking price even though both cruise control and air-con were faulty.
If the car is in good condition then it'll sell no problem.

Thats why I'm scared to put mine in the trade cos I know it will shift, and I'll end up having to drive a Fiesta 1.1 pop plus because it economical..

True though, they are hard to find I had to do some travelling to get my 3b when i was looking, there are some absolute horrors out there as well (generally more bad UR's tham S2's though). Some of the UR's I saw (which people described as good condition) where suitible only for the scrap yard.. Don't think I would be paying more than £6k for 3b, and £10k for a late aby.

Suppose you just judge each car on its own merits, cos even one owners cars with full history can be dogs, depending on the one owner. Also definately do a HPI, cos somtimes cars are cheap for a reason.

Exactly the case with when i bought mine in January this year. The guy knew he had a good example, He knew I desperately wanted it, and he made me pay £500 over the Parkers guide price for it. To be fair apart from the new clutch and non working A/C it has been fantastic value for money and a WONDERFUL car. My bosses tuned 4.2 Chimera can't drop it
