tell me about it, the fabrication/welding cost in excess of £5000, and the paint job, inside, underneath, outside etc was a further £5000

i know 6.5k is a lot of money, but if I had it spare right now I would be very tempted..

Te rally boys are fitting Duratecs now instead of steel pintos or expensive NA cossies. 200+bhp reliably and you can buy a block new off Ford for very little. It's not what's supposed to be there but it works well and isn't an XE.

Sounds about right, i've seen several fully restored Mk1 go for £15k+ and Mk2's are not far behind
