    Anyone Want my S2?

So - my job means i'm never at home and the old S2 doesn't turn a wheel other than when i start her up and go round the block every few weeks! Still fun tho!!

She needs a good home as she is slowly rotting away outside my house.

She still runs well but would benefit from being used, some TLC and a revisit to MRC as the exhaust has been altered since they last saw her.

No MOT - but can be arranged if that's an issue (and if I can ever find the time!!!)
No longer taxed and currently SORN.

Oh - and i'm in Glasgow (some weekends only!!) if anyone wants a visit.

    Spec:

    1993 ABY with 128k miles

MRC remap and engine build 2 years ago based on:
    K26/28 turbo
    upgraded fuel pump
    RS2 injectors
    Marco 3" downpipe
    RS2 exhaust manifold
MRC also changed head gasket and timing belt
Power never measured but estimated by MRC boys as around 400

    In addition:
    Koni sport adjustables all round
    Alloy top mounts all round
    RS2 farb and whiteline rear
Porsche 996 calipers and A8 discs with rigid lines all round
    3" exhaust system de-catted
18" RS4 copy alloys running on 225/40 tyres

    Known problems:
Looking a bit tired cause she's been sitting outside for ages going nowhere.
Central locking doesn't work any more.
Water leak somehwere around passenger door seal led to me cutting out the carpet from the passenger footwell as it was stinking!
Fixing point for front bumper on driver side seems to have rusted through.
The face of the rev counter seems to have started to peal off slightly (amazingly anoying).
Brake bomb ticking - but has been for 7 years - still passes the brake pumping test.

I'm sure there are other things - but that's enough to see if anyone interested?

Was thinking of £4k - but open to offers as she never gets used.

That's her on the right in the photo - more pics avail once I get home!

(Ian S - you may recognise your S2 Avant?)

pm me with any interest or questions.

    Derek.

Hi Derek... Sorry to see you're selling it... Especially with that superb spec...

Still vividly remember that day on the B743...

This car overtook our MTM'd Avant (rr'd at 285bhp) in a straight line, with ease, from 30mph to xxxmph (can't remember) and the brakes are just sublime... I dream of brakes like that.

It's the S2 performance bargain of the year.

Good luck Derek, and I'm so sorry it's going.

Ian - thanks for the comments and believe me I am VERY sorry to be considering selling - to be honest if it can't reach a decent price then i will have a great excuse to hang on to her and hope that a job change means i get more time at home to tinker....... (with the car as well of course) - but the way things stand I have to be honest and admit that I get NO time to keep her up to scratch (the car again) and it would be better for all if she found a good home. I need a new job and a garage!! but no sign of either at the mo.

How much would it cost to sort out the little niggles with the car?
Im very interested but just need to weigh up my budget etc.
                Thanks. Luca

That's a tough question - as with most S2 owners costing isn't our strong point!!

I'm afraid I don't know the cost of the various fixes for the car but what I will say is that the car runs very well without needing anything done to it - all the work required is cosmetic or 'fine tuning' you could quite happily run the car as it is for ages (that's what I've been doing in the hope of one day having the time to work on it).

Anyways - have a think and let me know as the car isn't likely to go anywhere very soon.

If you were able to come see it then that might help.

Hi Derek, glad the job's going well but home life is obviously non existent!! Sorry to hear you're thinking of selling, your car drives soooo nice and Ian's right about the brakes. This is a well sorted car and could be very nice again with a little effort.

If you want to garage it with me, give me a shout but you'd need to leave me the keys I could bring it back to life for you and get some fun out of it, you could have visitation rights when required!

                    PM sent.

                    Graeme.

You can only keep trying!!! At least we'd have something to play with when you're up handing out fail slips, sorry working.

Guys - thanks for the support and suggestions.

I'm in London working this week - but might have Monday/Tuesday at home before jetting off again so this might be an excellent time to sort out if anyone wants to buy.

G - the storage option has an awful lot going for it - at the moment I can't see any problems and you know the car so this could work out quite well all round - and if I ever actually get a job where I can spend any amount of predicatable time at home then the car would still be about!!

I'll give you a call and we can discuss details!

                              Derek.
