Possibly For Sale Ap 6 Pot Calipers, discs, pads, brackets Braideds Etc

Im Not To Sure If I Really Want To Sell My Brakes So Im Seeing How Much Interest I Get And If It's Enough Then Ill Sell Them.

Basicly I Bought Them For My Urs4 But Havnt Got Any Wheels Now To Cover The Brakes As You Need A Min Of 18" And Ive Only Got The Standerd 16" Wheels Now As Ive Bent Two Of My Rs4 Wheels And Am In The Process Of Sueing The Council Because Of A Pot Hole.

The Brakes Are Second Hand And Every Thing Is There Ready To Fit Onto A Urs4, A4,a6,a8 Or S8 And According To Pete At Ap They Should Fit A Lot Of The Audis With The M14 Bolts That Hold The Caliper To The Hubs.
But Please please Check With Him First Or Speak To Lee As They Are The Same Brakes As He Has Got On His Car.

I Got Them From A Fella That Took Them Off His S8 Because He Has Now Got A Gt3 Porsche!

They Are Second Hand But Well Useable You Will Need 18" Wheels At Least For Clearance
If You Want Any More Info Please Email Or Pm Me And Ill Sort It For You.
They Are Not On My Car I Have Only Put Them On For The Photo If You Look Carefully You Can See The Other Calipers Hiding Behind, Yes The Discs Are Facing The Wrong Way But As I Said It Is For The Photo Only.

    Thanks
    Dave

Are these trailing or leading Dave? There are CP5555 calipers avilable in trailing and leading and the S2 needs a trailing version. All you have to do to change them is swap the bleed nipples and the crossover pipe....easy. These may need a different bracket to mount them to the S2 upright which uses M12 fasteners that are closer together than on your application.

I can thoroughly reccomend these calipers. Excellent design makes them strong and light. They're stopping power is amazing as a few Forum members may have experienced before I ran my disks a bit too thin and they warped. With big heavy disks, decent fluids and pads you will have trouble causing these things to fade on you even under the most extreme use...trust me I know! There are also several decent compounds of brake pad available for these pads from fast road to full race. Come to a trackday and I'll show you how long these things can take a relentless thrashing...oooo errrr missus.

Is the yellow text still on the calipers or has someone painted the lettering in black Dave? What was the disk diameter as these calipers can be used with up to 362mm disks and I am assuming the disks have slotted holes where they meet the bell...they would have if AP designed the kit. The disk prices aren't too bad either and a 355mm or 343mm disk is an option if size is an issue. Lastly, Are these for 32mm disks or 36mm thick? There were 2 widths of CP5555 caliper available.

This kit is seriously expensive from AP! Maybe a relative bargain to be had here by someone.

Pete at AP is a cool guy...he is right when he says the upright is the weakest link if you fit these brakes to an S2! LOL!

Sorry, I should add. To fit these brakes to an S2 does require 18" wheels but only new mounting brackets are need to interface to the S2/RS2 upright (or almost any Audi for that matter).

        Tempting!

If someone doesn't have 18s (but has 17s) but wants an AP kit - they could buy this from Dave, give it to me, and I will give them the AP S2 330mm kit I have on my car - hey - I've got to try

Dave - What diameter are they? What pads are fitted?

Lee - would I only need brackets to put these on my car? As you know, I was looking for some 'AP' -ness on my car (ahem, best I could do with the material at short notice) till money ran a little short.

          Cheers, Paul

They Are The Ap Full Kit Part Number
            Cp5555 1006
They Are For The Audi A8 Or S8
The Discs Are 356mm X 32mm (but On The Ap Web Site It Says That The 1006 Kit Is 35mm) I Have Just Gone And Messued Them And They Messure 32mm
The Whole Lot Came As A Kit From Ap And I Still Have all The Paperwork From The Origanal Date Of Sale And They Are Not Even 18months Old Yet.
The Pistons Are The Wrong Way Round For My Car They Need To Be Turned As On The A8 They Are Facing The Other Way Round
ON THE INVOICE IT SAYS BLA, BLA, BLA LESS AP LOGO IN YELLOW!!!
SO THEY WERE BOUGHT WITHOUT THE YELLOW THEN

            HERE IS THE WEB SITE

Paul, yes no problem on your car. You just need some new brackets and maybe a switch of the crossover pipe and nipples fnar fnar to ensure the pistons are in the right orientation to prevent tapered pad wear, as Dave suggests. The disks and bells can be used as they are on the S2 hub and just make the brackets to suit. Go on, you know you want to!!

My term 'bracket' refers to the lump of metal which interfaces the caliper to the upright. I guess 'carrier' is another word for them.

Cool. They don't need to be 'adjusted' for the S2 then...even better. Its a 5 minute job anyway so it wouldn't have been a problem.

Yes it would but you would have to modify the bell to suit the Porsche bolt fitments as well as manufacture new interface hardware between the caliper and upright. This would be one of the cheapest ways to get serious brakes on your car. This is an S8 kit so you have to 'tweak' it to fit the S2 or RS2. I did my own 6 pot AP kit and they are awesome...highly recomended.

Rob, I tend to associate the carrier as something a sliding caliper is mounted on and a bracket as something that a non sliding calipers is mounted on....

                              Just my terminology,
