Hi all,
I had my S2 advertised on pistonheads for a while and also listed it on ebay but it did not meet its reserve.
Now a workmate is selling his impreza sti which i am very tempted by
and he has offered it to me for silly money so i would be silly not to bite his hand off, but wether i buy it or not depends on if i can sell my Avant.
Here we go:
It was registered on the 30th of October 1995 so its one of the last Avants made, it has the 230bhp ABY engine and 6 speed gearbox combination.
The colour is Ruby red and it has the optional extras of grey leather interior, Carbon interior panels and electric sunroof.
Its done just over 172,300 miles but drives like its done half of that, it has a large amount of service history and receipts totalling over £20k, this car is currently my daily drive so the mileage will increase.
Sensibly modified with Milltek cat-back exhaust, Forge re-circ valve and its 'homefried' by Mr Nugent so it has approximatley 270bhp and 320 lb/ft of torque.
Other modifications are a HIDS4U 6K 55w HID Kit, aero wiper on rear tailgate, Sony CD player, boost gauge in centre dash vent and more importantly 314x30mm diameter Audi S6 discs with Audi TT calipers.
I have also removed the aux rad and most of the air-con system.
I have recently spent £800 on a service at MRC Tuning (13/03) and had a new crank torsion damper pulley and RS2 cambelt fitted.
I fitted this damper as my bottom pulley was wobbling, it is now much better but still wobbles a bit i think a new crank pulley is required (had a quote of £50 from quattro corner)
It has goodyear F1 tyres all round all have good tread left, it has 12 months tax and the MOT is til the 5th of August.
As of any car thats 14 years old and done this many miles there are some faults.
First of all the bodywork could do with some TLC in places, there is a small dent on the drivers door, there is rust starting to come through on the tailgate (underneath the window rubber) also there is a deep scratch on the top half of the tailgate and rust is coming through on the NSR wheel arch.
The rear bumper has scratches all over so do the ends of the mirrors and the car has various stonechips on bodywork and two on the windscreen, the drivers seat has a 'blemish' and some wear on the bolster and the rev counter needle for some strange reason flicks around the dial sometimes when cruising on the motorway.
The top mounts need changing (I have these but have not fitted as yet) and the front brake discs are warped a little so need changing.
When i did a HPI check on this when buying, there was a mileage discrepency that came up, basically HPI are saying that on the 25/6/96 it had done 30k miles and 01/11/96 it had done 2k miles ?!? this is not what the serivce book/receipts say as on the 28/8/97 Audi did a service at 11,097 miles.
I beleive this to be a genuine mistake but i have to inform potential buyers of this.
Apart from these the car drives like its done half the miles and everything else works as it should, a real nice car to drive, comfortable, practical, can get 30+mpg on a motorway run and has awesome amounts of power with quattro traction.
I have owned this since 17th of Feb 2007 and spent thousands on it, always run on shell v-power and fully synthetic oil changed every 5k-6k miles.
£2800 ovno for hopefully a quick sale
