    ABY Engine

Really dont want to have to pull apart a good motor, but due to lack of interest may have to.....

    Any takers????

Complete engine (170K). Nice smooth motor. With manifolds, turbo, downpipes all ancillaries (inc MAF, hoses, wiring (No ECU) etc) can be heard running and have hoist and garage here for a quick removal. £1000.

Any one give any pointers to values on engine compents individually, Im done in trying to price bits, 60+ PMs about bits!!???

    Bottom end
    Head
    Inlet Man
    Exhaust Man
    Down pipes
    Injectors and fuel rail
    Throtle body
    After run pump
    Idle control valve
    Turbo
    Coilpack set
    Alternator
    PS pump
    AC pump
    MAF

Would I get a £1000 in bits do you think???

    Thanks for any help....

Now is not a time to sell:
        Ebay engine 1
        Ebay Engine 2
        Ebay Engine 3
The last two keep getting re-listeed as they have not sold.

Now, what's your best price again? :mischeif:

Seems that way!! They used to worth a fair bit more... Are you interested? 86000km one sounds a litle suspicious, very brief listing. Maybe ill hang onto it and wait till there are none for sale I wont let it go for peanuts as I have an S2 so useful for spares.....

Just to give an indication.. I paid £950 last year for the same set-up (with 90k miles though) including delivery and a helping hand fitting. So I'd expect to be a little flexible with the pricing.

Bry got an ebay bargain, if I'd had use for it myself I'd have joined in the bidding

I wouldn't sell the engine for peanuts if you have space to store it, end of the day they have good value. Selling the engine in parts you'd probably get a grand, may take some time though.

i recomended a rebuild,as i would not fit a motor with over 150k on it without at least an inspection..this one with 170k will imo also need rebuild/refurb..i know they have seen 200k with no probs, but they must be wear to some components

Bottom line is its worth around a grand to me, I know its a good motor, unlike other listings/adds this one can be heard/seen running and isnt on the floor in a shed. Comes complete with everything (-ECU), unlike other adds which are just an engine, missing MAF, downpipes, boost hoses, radiators, water hoses etc etc. Ill keep it, no odds to me really, i may stip a few bits off if people need them but ill keep the lump incase my goes pop!! Insurance have paid out and Im due another which a mate wrote off soon so ill have 2 spare engines. The joys of having lots of space. Maybe ill dump one lump in my 80 sedan 2.0 16V quattro and build a sleeper.
