Yeah i know, but time is my problem at the moment. And a long to check it out (693 miles). cornwall.

He mentions the breaks are a bit weak on these. How weak?

Not really weak, just could be better!
Upgrading is really easy with some simple bolt straight on options.
Highly recommended before adding more power!

Damn the VRT, it would cost 50% again to bring it into ireland. approx 1500euro.
I really want to get an S2 avant, I keep planning the road trip back from glasgow to cork

Thanks for all the interest and comments. sold it in the end for £1950 coming down in price quite a bit due to the buyers traveling costs and short MOT and Tax due to short notice.

I have a sad feeling this car has now filtered down to the kind of owners who want it for a cheap car and will probably be broken down after 1 or two MOT's. I did direct the new owner to this forum for advice, parts etc so hopefully he signs up.

Anyway, thanks for all the help with the car and i look forward to buying my next one once the house is finished!

I am the new owner of this particular s2 avant and as for the comment about jus lookin for a cheep car that wil probably be broken down after 1/2 mot, i cud of got a cheaper car 350 mile closer to my house i paid wot the car was worth, was willin to walk away due to cars faults,oil leaks, water leaks carpets wet central locking does not work,speedo sticks,boot release sticky more like broke stuck with glue to get rid of it,interior grubby,backwiper in the boot,faulty abs kicking in while braking slowly, warning sign comin on on dashboard. But thought i wud take a chance on it and over time wil turn it around in to the gr8 car they are hope to chat with u all soon either for help or parts.

Central locking - speak to spink on here, he can fix them or supply a new unit.
boot lid handle - think I have two standard handles lying around if that helps
speedo sticking - there are threads here about sorting it, face probably lifted
abs and warning light - probably the brake accumulator failing but not too bad and there are details on here for sorting it.
backwiper - is this just a re-fit or upgrade to a aero wiper same as dest above.

to be fair its worth keeping it on the road as they are getting stupidly rare now with them being stripped for no reason.
