That is a NICE car judging by the pics... Seems a lot of money in this marketplace - despite rareness, low miles and apparent lovely condish - I hope he gets near that money though - would be good case to help others with insurance nightmares (along lines of sorry mate your car is only worth £1500)

I know this car and the owner. It's in VERY good condition.
Recently had new rad, aux rad, brake overhaul, BRAND new alloys a couple of years ago.
Non airbag car that sat in a showroom until being registered new in 96.

Martin is selling this in favour of a new-ish Mini

I keep saying people shouldnt under value their S2's, but thats slightly over the top IMO!
Very nice example though, but not worth that much considering you could get an RS2 for that sort of money if you look around.
As for a new Mini....... I drove my mums Cooper last week and LOVED the handling, just a shame the performance sent you to sleep!
If it had the performance or near enough of an S2 then I would definitly get one myself, but even the Cooper S isnt that good.
Saying that though, if he did manage to get 10k for it, he would be able to get a Cooper GP one, and they are about 220bhp standard IIRC, which must be serious fun!

had a poke at a works cooperS with all the work done on it, still not nearly as fast as the s2, was expecting to get whooped off the line due to power to weight.... nope... so would def stay with the s2

Im pretty sure this is the car i looked at in late 2000! it was for sale in newcastle for £18995. It had 35000miles on the clock then. I thought it was strange to be a 96 car without an airbag steering wheel! and no air con (i know it was optional but most later cars had it) Needless to say i bought mine with 77000 miles, air con for £16999 It looked a lovely car but in hindside im glad i bought mine with air con and no sunroof, im 6' 4 and my head is no where near the roof lining

That's a lovely example of a clean looking s2! Again the price is in rs2 territory so he'd do well to get near the asking price.
