Unfortunately, a couple of years ago my beloved 3b coupe was written off when a van crashed into the side of my MOT man on its way for a test. Luckily, the MOT man was ok.
My intention was to keep certain spares for my next S2 project and sell the rest. Unfortunately, work commitments meant that I just did not have the time for another S2 or to complete the strip down and really the time has come to sell the whole car as it is.
It is a 1991 3b coupe in Grey Pearl. It had done 150k miles at the time of the accident.
I have removed much of the front end to access the engine (which is still in the car) and I tried to remove as much of the interior as possible to store in the attic.
The impact was on the driver’s side from the front wheel to the back, so the driver’s door has been removed. The driver’s seat base was rather crushed.
I advertised parts on here a (long) while ago. Sorry to those who PM’d me then and who I couldn’t get back to.
None of the parts have been sold, so I consider that the car is almost complete, but in pieces.
The car is not modified, but the following parts are of note:
Blue Samco coolant hoses (full kit - £180)
Billzcat1 short shift kit
Refurbished wheels
I think it would make a good source for a 3b conversion, for refreshment of a tired coupe or maybe for a mad Golf project. The car was very tidy before the accident and I think most parts will clean up well.
Attached is a picture taken just after the accident, and the rest are of it as it is now.
The car is located in the Wrexham area.
I hope this is of interest to someone. For my own peace of mind, the buyer should satisfy themselves that the parts the car yields are fit for purpose and were not damaged in the accident.
