Golf Rallye G60 1989
The time has come to sell my Golf Rallye. I have owned this piece of VW motoring history for just under a year. It has been a joy to drive and own in this time. I bought the car knowing it needed a bit of work on the body.
When I purchased the car back in November last year, amongst other things the sills were in a sorry state. I arranged the car to go to a VW specialists to have them removed, replaced and painted. They are now fully done with new parts. Other items done at the same time included a replacement diff and a full service. I have done loads of other small things to try and bring this car back to its former original glory. I have replaced the original exhaust manifold, which was cracked with a brand new G-Werks 4 branch manifold, this also allows the engine to breathe better.
Prior to my ownership the car has a fully dealer stamped service book, and from then onwards VW specialists. I have a full service history including all MOT's and receipts. At the moment the car has a full MOT and I have just replace all 4 tyres with the correct size Toyo T1-R proxies.
The interior half leather looks slightly worn in places and a couple of the VDO gauges are not plumbed in, however the boost guage works and overall the car drives and pulls very well. With the modifications it should be pushing just over 200BHP. I have also replaced most of the window rubbers for new items and other small bits of trim that were missing.
The Rallye looks standard apart from the fully stainless steel exhaust and lowered on the FK coilovers. The original equipment Sebring alloy wheels are in excellent, virtually unmarked condition and I think suit the Rallye perfectly.

The car is for sale at £5000 ono, it has 126,000 miles on the clock (203,000KM)
