Aren't the S2 offsets similar to an UrS6?
I've seen lots of US guys take UrS4&6 hubs and place them onto CQs
Has anyone ever made replacement bells for the R8 disks?
This kit will bolt straight on to s2 hubs you will need minimum 18" wheels with a decent offset to clear the calipers.
They will not fit s4/s6 hubs with this bracket although the disks will fit straight on, you would need to source the correct bracket im sure they are availiable.
Those disk are separate from the Bell or whatever you want to call it. They aren't one piece??
Don't they bolt the actual disk to some sort of bell, it most certainly a different material, it has to be attached to the disk somehow?
It appears on the R8 disks the center is certainly not the same material as the disk (certainly could be.. but it has a totally different surface), from memory it appears that the center hub is held in place by what appear to be bolts that radially attach to the disk. I haven't had one in my hands but I've stuck my head into the wheel wells of a R8 (and if I remember correctly there's another Porsche that uses the same type of disk) enough times to be fairly certain the disk, attachment device, and the hub are all different materials.
Please prove me wrong, I'd love to understand how the ceramic brake disks version attach?
Please don't tell me the ceramic disk is all the same material.
These disks are most definatly one piece, you are correct in saying there are 2 diffrent materials but the 2 pieces are not joined by bolts, the centres of these disks have been enamled in graphite grey so slightly diffrent to the original item.
Thanks for the clarification that the R8 centers are enameled, wonder why that additional process? But what attaches the centers to the disks, just offhand it appears to be something like a SS bolts, radially attached...like a spoke..probably not though. I don't have a disk in my hand like you do, I've only stuck my head into a bunch of wheel wells.
I will take some close up pictures, definatly no bolts. R8 disks are not enamled i had these done as it was the general colour scheme of my engine bay and various other bits.
