I have decided to split the engine I had for sale as I have a more complete engine I will be putting up for sale later.
The engine was superb, made good strong boost, never smoked, never rattled on startup, Pete (AcidBurn) has heard it running from cold and I am sure will agree its a good engine.
The fault I have found since stripping the car is that there is clearly water running out of the HG down the exhaust side of the block, my assumption is that the gasket is starting to fail and allowing the water from the galleries to slowly seep outwards as its definitely not going into the engine.
I'd rather not sell the engine as perfect as although it may go for ages I would be dissapointed if it let someone down so its easier if I split it and get my money back that way.
The other option is to do the HG and belt but I have a complete engine just about to come up for sale it may be easier just to split this one.
Here is a breakdown of the parts available.
Complete short motor (block, crank, rods, pistons and sump) £500
20v Cylinder head (complete with cams etc) £250
Inlet manifold (complete with injectors) £100
Water manifold £30
Turbo and manifold (slight play, never smoked) £150
Wastegate £50
Alternator £30
PAS pump ( quiet, no leaks) £50
