S2 for sale

ok, well i did think I'd sell my organs before my S2 but needs must, so offering first dibs to folks in the forum, the ad will be in autotrader and exchange & mart tomorrow but I'll knock 200 quid off the price for anyone on here as I have way more faith it will be going to a good home.

1994/ L reg, Coupe, 6 gear, 89,900 miles, 303bhp, ABY, all the regulars on it, no air con though. Nice metallic green paint, 10 cd Sony interchanger, 2 months tax and 7 months MOT.

Advertising it at £10, 995 will sell to a loving home from here at £10, 7995.

It really is depressing selling an S2, it's like being dumped by a really top bird, only much worse.

Just had a quick read of your post, your only just down the road from me. It could be worth you going along to Castle Coombe weekend after next and advertising it there.

Some may feel the price is a little high though

I've been thinking about the price too, may be a little high. Good mileage though. Does it have a service history as this will affect the price some.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I costed the car according to the ones for sale on autotrader.co.uk, been keeping an eye on prices on there for several months and it seemed having less than 100k on the clock, and being the 6 gear version were important in the valuation. There's an N reg in there for 11,995 from a trader.

Also wasn't sure whether ther 303bhp would add or reduce value but since it runs smooth on the upgrade (with new coil packs) I considered this a big bonus.

Got a full service history book yes. It was a financial repossession so I made sure it got the works when i got it as the last guy was the S2 owner equivalent of a dog beater. The fluids were all brown and he even took the locking wheelnut key to make my life a misery lol.

I definitely think its worth a fair bit more than 6.5 at least according to what I see on the market, but I welcome all valuations as advertising it but not selling it is painful. I'm sure the car knows and keeps staring at me with hurt in its headlights.

Out of interest - what problem did you have with your old coilpacks? Did you get a hesitation on high boost/high load when you upped the boost level?

The £10k barrier is a big one for people to pay more than.

the N reg S2 the trader is selling for over 11,000 has been up for sale for a few months now have seen that car on auto trader some time ago!!

exactly yes. It had been running fine for several months and then one day it just started "bucking" more than hesitating when the turbo kicked in, and would always kick in under high load.

I was a bit sweaty about the prospect of replacing all the coil packs as you never know when a mechanic says "yep, its definitely these you need" and then pay a fortune and it doesn't fix it, but its been great ever since.

Cost me a grand though so they definitely saw me coming. I mean... the labour charge was 400 quid because the mechanic couldn't wire the packs easily.. surely its not my fault he had trouble? lol.

Have you had problems with your coil packs then?

If I don't get any interest on it at current price I will probably lower it to 9,995 to overcome that mental 10k barrier then.
