    Better oil drain valve

After reading the thread on the furmoto drain valve it would seem that the Fumoto Valve is not a great design when used on the S2 . This is because of the position/ angle of figment and the fact that this does not allow for complete drain of the oil, I'm not going to slag the design off as in other makes and models of cars this is probably not the case and the oil can drain completely.

I am going to make an adaptor for a ball valve with slotted threads so that it can be used on the S2 and WILL drain the oil just as if the sump plug was removed .

I'm not sure when I will get time to do this as it all depends when I can get a machine free at work I can use, but as this is only a small part once the CNC is set I can run 20-30 off quickly .

The ball valve will just be a standard off the shelf part that won't cost much , about £10-12

The adaptor will screw into the sump and the ball valve will then screw on to it and once it is on will never need to be removed .

If anyone is interested in one of these could you let me know via PM so I have an idea of how many to make.
Price for the adaptor will be £10 plus p+p and I will get a price on a suitable ball valve soon.

I dont see how this is going to be an improvement as any valve that screws into the sump hole will have the same problem as the threads are taking up volume of the sump hole output.

Read first post ! The thread will be slotted and thus will let oil flow the same as if a normal plug was removed.

Yes, this is no problem as the ball valves I'm looking at using have a fitting on either end so an adaptor to the hose size you want to use can be made .

if this will have the same option of being able to mount a return from a catch tank, ill be interested in it as well.

In reality though, has anyone ever measured how much oil is left in the sump with the fumoto valve? is it really that much of a problem?

Unfortunately not, where I work has always been very busy and doing foreigners was impossible as none of the machines are free. When the recession hit china went on a go slow and as 50% of what we make goes out to them my work made 80 people redundant and for the first time since I had worked there there were machines lying idle all over the place.
After it being quiet for a good wile I started thinking I could get some stuff made wile I have the chance.
I did make a lot of things, mainly for me but just when I got round to making the drain valve it suddenly got very bust again and has been since. So unfortunate I never got the chance to make any, I could have them made else were but the cost would be prohibitive so that's out really.
I had lots of things planned and took the opportunity to make a few things when I had the chance, but it looks like I won't get the chance to make any unless it goes quiet again which I can't see happening any time soon.
