i dont have to prove anything to anyone Jamo, you do what you like and have the decency of giving a chance others to do so as well. You want to use the newest versions.fine. You couldnt work with 1.1.27 while a lot if not all other users were running fine with it even before you even concidered using vems. So just because you had worse luck with it than 1.1.6x versions, it doesnt mean that it is worse.

On the latest 05/02 vemstune version apparently there is a problem which is the one i have tried and only for a little while.

If it was so stable, then tell me the simple thing: why is vems still selling the ECU with 1.1.27 and not with one of the 1.1.6x (unless asked by the buyer)?

Also why is it that developers are still advertising an Official version?

@mudpugger: you willling to bet your engine on testing a new firmware in case it glitches badly? Im not saying that it will, but what if? Will VEMS take responsibility for it?

Im being cautious and nothing more. If you Jamo were used to A version, you would too. If you dont know something, dont speak bad about it. Let your ego down and just say: i dont know!

Obviously I wouldn't want to be 'the' first to use it, but if you never take a risk...

I know what you are saying though, and I am not saying either of you are wrong or right!

As for the comment earlier about the details of upgrades/prices/experiences etc, I have drafted a form so I am looking for some testers! See new thread...

dont get me wrong, i have guinea pigged my engine quite a lot to get a lot of things running properly, and settings tested and cold starts and idle settings etc. BUT at least i didnt have to worry if the settings i use have some correct baseline to start with and the softaware is tried and tested. I have enough worrying to do when fine tuning everything, i dont want to worry about whether the software is producing faults as well!!!

i do underestand that these things will happen when under development, but as i say,im not a tuner for living, so personally i like to do my hobby, not test a software on my engine.

I didn't ask for the later version I was RECOMMENDED the later version and sold it with my VEMS, infact Pnanassy spent a week showing me the benefits of some of the firmwares above 1.1.27 as I thought like most no firmware above 1.1.27 was Audi stable and it really is far from the truth when you listen to the supplier who has 1st hand experience far greater than mine or yours.

Your supplier due mainly to location is more pragmatic, there is nothing wrong with sticking to what you know.

To that respect that supplier knows that firmware inside out and there is nothing he doesn't know about it, having spoke to him he knows his sh*t inside out.

You are being xenophobic about the new firmwares and you haven't used them.

Mine due to location is able to interact quicker with the VEMS people. All firmwares I have run have been pre-tested by said supplier.

It's like 1.1.64 I was told not to use because there is an ignition issue he found a day or two of testing it after release. I didn't ask to be told I got a bulletin. This kind of service I like

I'm not scared of using something new in that respect when you have used 1.1.6x then you are in a position to talk to me if it's stable or not until then please don't comment

there is no constructive dialog here.

everytime someone picks up a conversation with you, it like talking to a brick wall.

              i give up.

your 'supplier' is bigger than mine. I rest my case. enough with the p$&£ waving! please!!!!

              have fun!
