    Realistic Valuation

Help required ! - I posted my 95M S2 coupe on here for sale a while ago. I'm not desparate, but I am going overseas in early October and, as I have alternative transport, I am keen to sell the car sooner rather than later. It has 125k, 11 months MOT, is Dark Met Green and in good overall condition. It has a service history - but not all VAG. Recent Clutch, disks and pads too. Any ideas what I should price it at to sell - as I said, I would rather just get it out of the way as I have a million other things to worry about before I go.

Any advice greatly received - preferably via email at jon@yourlets.net

new baby prevents me spending much time browsing on the net !

    Cheers

    Jon

IMHO Dependant on Condition, Spec etc....... between £7k - £8.5k. It's very hard to value without knowing/seeing the car. I think there are a couple of guys on here from your neck of the woods that may be able to help you more.

thanks mate - I have had it up for £7995 in autotrader and got 1 caller, I have since listed it on cardata and connecting cars at £7295 - not one caller from these sources although I fell they are perhaps not what they advertise to be ! - I think I will re-advertise in Autotrader at £7295 and see if that gets any response.

      Thanks again for your help

These cars are only known to people that want them. They are worth was someone is prepared to pay. eg. I payed £5900 for a '93 K with 144k also in Emerald green with full cream leather which was the car I wanted. It's more of a person/car match. Good luck I don't see any reason why it shouldn't sell at that price.

Yes - I think you're absolutely right - they will not be bought by someone who is looking to spend 8k but is not certain what they want. I did post on here a while ago, asking £7995, but got no response - having said that, I guess most people on here already own an S2 !!

Try and post it on Audifans in their classified section (you'll have to join - it's free) This has a lot of audi owners that will either want or know someone that may be looking, your ad can be posted for 30 days. Give it a go.

I had my car (91 3B) checked by HPI before buying it, and they put a valuation on a completely standard one (with the mileage mine had at the time, which was fairly low - it's over 100,000 now but wasn't then) of £7,800. Mine already had the big wheels and RS2 bumper, some tuning, nice stereo and amp, etc, so I paid a tad more without too much worry.

Now I need to spend a hill of money making it right again - due to over abuse of a 13 year old gearbox ...and do some heavier tuning to abuse the freshened up 'box!!!

I guess the opinion generally is that it's an unusual market. They are very expensive cars unless you really want one, and then they represent incredible all-round performance for reasonable money !
