It sound's wrong, a gearbox rebuild and its only done 75k!!! Even a ford box can deal with that mileage!!!

It must have had a boost leak though as mine feels quicker. Loads of lag until around 3.5k & then not as much 'oomph' as I was expecting. It wasn't misfiring or pinking it just seemed to lack a bit of boost.
And something was constantly rubbing from the brakes. It had new discs & pads all round recently so maybe it was the backing plate or something. He said he would sort that anyway.
Apart from that just little niggly things like stiff bonnet release, blown ambient temp gauge bulb & there was something wrong with the passenger exterior door handle. It opened the door but there was no resistance when you pulled the handle. Bodywork looked straight enough though - no sign of any repair work.

Seriously tempted to trade in the Coupe and get an Avant at the moment, need something more practical right now (just bought a HUGE new Trace Elliott bass amp and it doesn't fit in the Coupe!!) and I've always drooled over the RS2. Argh.
Can't, bid, must not bid...Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...
