(Complete off-topic, just some politic issues)

Its funny how politics twist everything.

Cataluña produces the highst income of the State of Spain, simply because is the largest of the "rich" zones. (Doubles the size of Madrid)

Income per Capita in Spain goes like this:
      1. Madrid
      2. Navarra
      3. Pais Vasco
      4. Baleares Islands
      5. Cataluña (Not that high)
      6. La Rioja
      7. Aragon
      8. Spanish average

It's easy to twist the numbers. China for sure has a larger State Income than the UK, but people in the UK have more income per person, wich means UK is a richer country.

The last few years Cataluña has been growing less than the Spanish average and many big companies have established in Madrid.

Its funny because people in Cataluña think that if the go independent from Spain, the will inmediately go to the UE (very unlikely)

Then again most of the income of Cataluña comes from sales outside Cataluña, in the rest of Spain, so they would loose that (no more free trade)

And for the football rivaly, Barcelona would have to play very interesting matches between Cataluñas teams (Not even good enough to play in the Spanish second division), so no more Madrid-Barcelona, wich means all the stars from Barcelona will go play in a competive league.

As occurs in every country, part of the money of the richer zones goes to help the poorer ones that way countries progress wich will benefit everybody. Madrid gives more money to the State than Cataluña and we don't complain about us having a poorer road system than many other places, is just some solidarity.

Cataluña wants to be independent just because the politics prefere to be president/prime minister of a country than a state that can control them. In the end rulers want more power and money without considering what is the best for their region.

I hope one day there are no countries in Europe, so we all can work better economically against USA and China. Separating a country only affects both parts.

Having said that, I still think Cataluña is one of the best places of Spain and the people are very kind and only a minority want independence. The most voted political parti in Cataluña is and state political party and not a regional one.

I think jogi730 was meaning that Audi were the first to bring the 4x4 performance car to the masses. It will always be the case that someone comes along and does it better.
I have to agree with you about them going soft. I think their targets have shifted. Audi now aims to compete against BMW and Mercedes, whereas Scoobies and Evos are in a different class of car. The modern Audis are still great cars, but in a B-road race, I think the "pointy" steering of the Jap cars will prove more effective. But then Audi arn't trying to build a car that'll beat a Scooby on a back road. They're trying to build a car that'll beat a BMW or a Merc in terms of comfort and style. Performance has to be included in the package, because that's what BMW and Mercedes are doing too.
Maybe the Le Mans will be different - but then that's aimed a different market again! Watch out Mr Porsche!

The Jensen Intercepter FF which had 4 wheel drive and anti lock Dunlop Brakes should be the daddy of the 4WD brigade I feel. The 4WD drive train was by Ferguson (FF = Ferguson Formula) Ferguson were better known for tractors! 240BHP, 4WD and anti lock brakes all back in 1968 in a production car. Audi as someone pointed out later in the thread is the first mass production car.
