No.

For fitting into the S2 I think the Shift shaft end cover where the rear light switch is located could be too big. The box from B5 had this cover a lot smaller than C4 unit.

the 01E are the same. i have 2 5spd (not many have the wide first gear section) and 3 6 spd. they all work in my car the same way until i blow them up.

they all have the same shape and fitment. they have the same reverse light thing. the 6 spd from B5 S4 has a different clutch slave, but the S2 one and the UrS one work just the same but do not have a plastic body.

the UrS4/6 shifter differs from the B5S4 shifter, but the gearbox and rod is the same.

but some few have a wide first gear in them....

As it's an 01E box it's stronger. I've heard they are popular in Sweden with the drag racers as the ratio's mean less changes in the quarter mile.
