Can't see it being a CAT D for very minor damage to front bumper. Usually to write a car off it, the damage must exceed 60% of its value, and with a Rs2 being worth at least £10k, thats one fooking expensive bumper. I know Audi parts are expensive, but thats taking the p*ss!

Yeah, I thought the same. Think its more likely the Bumper, fogs, indicators, intercooler, crossmember and a few bits here and there, then paint and labour. That would be a good few grand.

Not nessesary, I got my lhd rs2 from scrap yard at £ 7k , it only had few scraches, missing ecu and no spare. To replace this dose not exceed 60% of total value.

Insurance companies generally do what is in thier best interest, as in whats the point them paying out for market value on a car, if it can be repaired? The general rule is if the damage to the car exceeds, roughly around 60ish% of the market value of the car they will write it off.

It does depend on circumstane, for example your car may have been stolen recovered, where the insurance company may have already paid out. Or with it being LHD, they may have been reluctant to source parts from one of thier approved garages with it not being a uk car.. etc etc Some insurance companies give the customer the option to keep the car as it is, and pay them a portion of the repair costs.

Largely depends on circumstance and the insurance companies policy.

Winning bid was £7900. That sounds cheap to me - even for a left hooker. Anybody on here ?

I have a couple of freinds in Birmingham that have GTi's, S2's and RS2's that know the guy selling the car. Apparently it was a straight up car with no real problems bar a front wheel bearing that needed doing. The guy that owns it wanted £9k. If any of you want me to enquire whether it still availabe I'll get in touch with him to find out whether he kept it due to the low bids.

                    all the best

Bit of dodgy bidding been done on this one, check the winners feedback, looks to me someone opened an account quickly and bought a few items to get some fb,check out items bought and the time between them all,he been trying to bid up his auction and then backfired, relisted after 9 days, maybe im wrong and not taking anything away from the car,but if i had listed a car then had some idiot bid then not pay,i would at least leave them some tasty feedback, but nothing, all looks a bit suspect,no matter what the car look like a cracker and well worth the loot.
