RS2 Hybrid Turbo

For Sale: One NEW RS2 Hybrid Turbo. £650 delivered.

I'm upgrading (yes, again)to K26/27, so it's up for sale following just 6 month's use.

The turbo will be sold in full new condition following a full strip down and re-build service, courtesy of Hoffer76. It will also benefit from renewed and upgraded oil seals to ensure best performance with a 3" DP and System.

I ran this turbo, RS2 setup with Delphi blue band injectors (480cc) and a custom tune from Dmitri to achieve these results: http://prj-tuning.com/ Serious Torque.

I'm told it's possible to tune this turbo/injector setup for just over 400bhp for regular road use. I had it slightly de-tuned to deal with the high temps on track days.

Great turbo Lloyd, I thought you were gonna stick with this one! It felt really responsive on the twisties but not quite as savage in the mid-upper rev range as the K26/7 on mine. For anyone not sure if they want to comprimise the response of an RS2 turbo but looking for bolt-on 400HP this has to be the way to go...

Just out of interest do you know what componant(s) have been changed to make this an RS2 'hybrid' capable of running 400BHP safely, ie- larger turbine or more moden compressor wheel? Sounds like a nice turbo for someone.

AFAIK (I'm no expert) it's got a larger, stronger shaft and bearing a larger more modern design and lighter compressor wheel.

If it's got the billet compressor then it should be a little faster due to lower inertia. The k24 7000 with a billet comp. that I have on the car at the mo spools up lightening fast

Yes, I really liked the RS2 hybrid and tune. Best setup so far, but looking for a bit more at the top end. I'm going for another of Hoffers hybrids, a bit bigger than last time, k26/27.
Not sure of the exact spec but will see if I can beat Ross to the dyno once fitted!

Not expecting to beat Ross as he has uprated rods.

Maybe h-rods will give you only more torque in middle revs....but final power?maybe you will run the same boost at 7000rpm.. Dmitri knows.

Anyway I think you can run perfectly 2.2bar in middle revs as Ross.

AFAIK no one has as yet dyno'd one of Hoffers K26/27's...
I'm expecting it to be similar to Richards own 3071as shown on Dmitri's blog.
Spooling later than the RS2 Hybrid by maybe 300/400 rpm.

Compare the x-axis offset of boost curve on RS2 Hybrid to 3071.
