Any interest in VAS5054 + VAS software?

    Just testing the water really.

I've been offered some VAS5054 units, and have the software including VAS PC for guided fault finding.

These are a notch above vagcom and do not require login codes for control modules + support some dealership level ecu updates (not to be confused with aftermarket flash files, these are the same updates the dealership would use for your ecu)

I am still sorting out a price, if anyone here wants them they would be supplied at cost + shipping and i'd need to bring in 3 - 5+ to make it worth while (sell here @ cost and the others elsewhere)

    cheers,
    JT

      Hi.

roughly something close to the approximate (i.e. don't take this as gospel as it will most likely change when our brethren in China return to work after the new year celebrations)

I'm hopeful of the price around ÂŁ120 but it may be more. The main issue is that some of the cheaper vas heads don't have a particular IC on them which doesn't allow for ecu updating, which of course limits their functionality.

I'd be interested as well, as you know despite my current novice level this is a field I wish to start exploring and understanding in some depth, hence purchasing the Vagcom set-up from you.

Would this more advanced system integrate in any way with the lead and software I already have?

          Hi Kit,

It is a little more advanced in some respects, the over and above benefits of VAS5054 compared to VCDS are:

not having to have a log in code for the ECU/module you're working on
          guided fault finding
          ecu updates

VCDS has it's merits, namely help with long coding and price.

It depends on what your requirements are really, if just DIY diagnostics as it were, VCDS can do a lot if not everything (other than odo correction/skc retrieval, which VAS5054 doesn't do either). If you feel guided fault finding and not having to have login codes for certain modules is more your thing along with the ecu updates (i need to obtain full clarification on this as to what vehicles are supported) then it's a wise investment.

I'd suggest looking at ElsaWIN & ETKA too.

There are a plethora of tools available. If you're interested in pulling SKC's (needed if you add new keys in vcds) and odo correction (dashboard replacement) or immobilizer disabling, there is Vag Dash Can & SuperVAG Plus (a new revision to the old model, supporting newer vehicles)

          Hope this helps a little.

You would need a monthly subscription + license fees to be able to get into modules without login codes.
The reason you can, is because it communicates with VAG's servers and gets codes from there, and for it to communicate with those servers you must have a valid license.

Though from what I gather, you are selling chinese clones? Not the original thing?

In that case, none of that will probably work.
I am also not sure if it would do ECU updates, as that might also depend on VW's servers.

                        Thanks PRJ,

I have VAS PC which emulates the connection to the VAG server thereby allowing guided fault finding and the updating of ECU's, I'll confirm the ecu login code functionality ASAP.

Some Chinese clones do not have a specific chip installed which can cause the option to update the ecu not be visible on the menu, so you're welcome to pay your money and take your chance on a supplier and product you know little about if you wish. Save for the Galletto's I acquired (I have no interest in such a product) I wouldn't sell a product I didn't have confidence in.

What you are saying is physically impossible, because your VAS PC can not "emulate the connection".
If the data is only on VAG's servers, it's only on VAG's servers.
You are not going to be able to program keys, radio codes, etc without a server connection, that's 100%. And you don't need to login for that much else.

As for updates. There is nothing to update on a S2 over OBD (physically impossible), plus if the updates are on VAG's servers, again you are not going to get hold of them.
Somehow I doubt that the software on the PC contains ALL update files for all cars. That'd make it pretty huge - my logic tells me they are pulled from the internet on demand, for which you need an actual valid subscription to have access.

So if you have cracked software, you can't update the software, and you can't use any functionality that requires pulling anything from VAG's servers.

The "guided fault finding" is part of the application itself, so that will work fine.

                            Btw, this sentence disturbs me.
What makes you any different from them? They have a website and a lot of throughput.
You are a man on a forum with 70 odd posts. Why would I trust you, more than them? I don't see the logic, I'm sorry.

I've bought many times from ecutool.com in the past btw, so they are not an unknown supplier to me.

Your only agenda on this forum seems to be selling various illegal chinese clone tools, and when you do you are not clearly stating that they are copies. I don't think what you are doing is right. Also, you are not sponsoring the forum.
This is not up to me to tell you though.
