    Reconditioned URS4 rear calipers & A8 carriers

I've been looking into getting these for the rear brake upgrade on my coupe and have found quite a cheap source, if I order 4 pairs then I should be able to get a pair of professionally reconditioned calipers a pair of used carriers for £250.

    So that's:
    A8/S8 carrier - 4D0 615 425C x2
    Calipers from RR quattro or UrS4/S6 - 447 615 423 and 447 615 424

To complete the setup all that is required is:

    B7 Disc, 300x22 vented - 8E0 615 601R (2-off) - requires turning down to 280mm
    S8 pads - 1J0 698 451L
    50mm long caliper carrier bolts - N101 815 02 x4 Shortened to ~35mm

    Also recommended:
    S2 Coupe rear hose - 893 611 775 (2-off)
    Brake union clip clamps - 4D0 611 715B (2-off)
    Handbrake cable lock clip - N900 527 02 (2-off)

So to complete the setup you'd need to spend a maximim of £70-£100 on other parts depending on which discs & pads you go for. I could also source pads and discs at a decent price including turning but I'd need to check prices on these first.

If anyone's interested let me know.

Perhaps you could start your own thread then!

I'll find out what vented discs I can get and find a price for turning them down tomorrow.

Haha all good. Are they a direct fit to the rear of a coupe? I thought the A8/S8 carriers & URS4 calipers were the only tried and tested rear brake option? Do you know of an easy option for the full S8 rear setup? Interested to know more too.

I thought it was established that the S8 discs have the wrong hat-height for this?
The calipers however has the exact same fitment as the C4 calipers.

Below you will see two possible ideas for rear vented rotors. I tried a couple of different calipers and rotors, basically running with ideas I got from other original thinkers on other forums. These are a couple of different combinations using two different rotors, two different calipers, both...

So there's no benefit to using A8/S8 calipers it's just an alternative where you'd have to use the same turned down B6 S4 rotors as above?

you can use s8 calipers because carriers wholes match 100% as coupe only thing which should be take into consideration is the s8 disk ET (if you whant use s8 disks) in this case carrier should be moved 5mm a sight(with nuts and longer bolts for example) or second option is to machining the disk to feet standart Coupe ET. But I always would prefer to modify the carrier instead of the disk.

they are a lot lighter than the S6 (3lb vs 6lb) from what I read in the fourtitude thread. and they look a lot better

Fair enough, didn't notice that bit about them being Aluminium! How difficult is it to hook up the handbrake mechanism? As it mentions in that thread that mechanism isn't in the right place.
