the thing is that i know that my engine was built to be used with a GT35... because the head job and camshafts profile....
and i am very happy with the 30R but i will dont mind to try the 35,,and see how it works. and i always can return one step back

Seeing the photos from the forced performance web site, the anti surge configuration is different than the photos you posted. Do you have a different housing? Or is it that they offer it in different options?

Well yes they do, you can see the casting marks are the same, and in my photos you can see the engraving that says "hta 3076" on the backside of the compressor housingComment

Dave, when we could see 2 bar with the GTX3582 in a 2.2 engine with camshafts fitted to be used with a normal GT35?
i am not sure what to do if try the GTX3076 or your GTX3582....
Garret says 525Hp for he normal 3076 and 640hp for the GTX3076
is it true that big difference? same spool, more power no compromise

The GTX 76mm wheel has a 58mm inducer with a 76.6mm exducer plus extended tip to get it out close to 80mm. This makes this compressor capable of 64lbs/min. While that is still less than the HTA3582r, is isn't much. The 30r turbine isn't that big, so asking it to make 35psi with a 64lb/min comrpessor is too much. That said, this turbo does have an application, and that application is putting it right in it's greatest efficiency at around 26psi. It would make pretty awesome power there.
So yeah, fuel is a big decider to what turbo you wanna run. If you want 500whp, you could easily do it with the 3076 GTX on race or e85, but if you want 500whp on pump fuel, the gtx3582r is probably a better option. It will also give you the headroom to make over 600whp in the future. Difference in spool with the turbos is around 500 rpm total. Figure 2 bar by 4300 on a 2.2L for the 3582r and 2 bar by 3800 on a 2.2L.
Hope that helps.1981 URQuattro with the TIAL GT35r.

My experience shows that you get a simple 3076R and fit a .82 ar and you have nothing really till 4000rpm. The engine and the car feels dull. You then switch to .63 and though it spools faster and surges a bit, the car wakes up sooner. However it chokes after 6500rpm with adu cams and its pointless to keep pushing it.
That's why my best bet is the best compressor wheel for the smaller hotside combo to allow for a fast spool with a satisfying hp number. 500crank or 400whp will do me fine

So you want the cake AND the icecream?
I compared them as .82 hotsides. I am used to e85 on stock compression, so maybe those figures are inflated 200rpm or so.
It is pretty much impossible to make 500whp without some lag. Can't have a strong low end, midrange and top end with a 2.2L+3000lb car. You can tune out surge with a .63 housing, but you will choke out up top, making a realastic 500whp impossible with a .63 hotside on a 3076 or 3582r, regardless of compressor construction. Garrett hotsides are mismatched to favor the compressor as is. Choking the turbine is never a swell idea. I recommend a .82 as a minimum on anything bigger than a 3071r. The 3076r can be run with a .63, but the surge must be tuned out to keep the compressor off the surge line.
No stock cam really shines great above 6500 to be fair. Small hotsides do not do the head any favor trying to get air through the head. If you want to rev above 6500, I wouldn't look at anything smaller than .82. EGT's confirm this too.1981 URQuattro with the TIAL GT35r.

would you rate the GTX3076 0.82AR like a 600Hp turbo boosting 2Bar in it best efficiency? The GTX 76mm wheel has a 58mm inducer with a 76.6mm exducer plus extended tip to get it out close to 80mm. got a normal 3076 with 0,82AR doing 2.2Bar at 4200rpm in third gear ....that means a GTX3582 0.82AR will do 2.2Bar at for example 4700rpm then?
thanks for the explanation
Vas,with a 3076 0.82 just reduce a gear and get full boost in any moment

So that is why when we say 500hp crank which is roughly around 400whp or a bit more, its feasable with a small hotside so long as you only keep the boost level up until 6000rpm were most of the power comes from anyway from stock cams. Otherwise I would agree, more hp is a compromise to lag.
