We had a 2.2L make 415whp at 22psi on a Mustang dyno, but that was with a header and stock intake manifold. I want to say it was at 22psi by 3800. Mustangs are an honest 20% drivetrain, putting it at 510hp crank. That isn't quite 2 bar, but close. I bet the extra few psi would have made it a 450whp/565 crank hp turbo pretty easily. Any more then that, you start to beat up against the limits of a 30r hotside. Only way to see a true 64lb/min the gtx is capable of is going to a 1.03 hotside. That is more lag though, and most people just move up to the 35r frame turbo.
As for the stock cams, I would find some 7a cams, as they don't give much more lag. The top end is much better with them, especially with larger turbos. There isn't enough duration or lift on the turbo cams. I think people confuse the turbo choking out with the cams choking out. 7a cams have shown to make as much as 700whp, but it better happen before 6500, because the party is over after that.1981 URQuattro with the TIAL GT35r.

Yeah, and that is a good point. It is hard to quantify "spool" for every engine configuration. I get spoiled in my shop because most cars I tune are on tube headers, custom intake manifolds, 3" exhausts with no cats, e85, stock or higher compression, ect. Yes, they are 2.2L still, but VE has gone up tremendously.1981 URQuattro with the TIAL GT35r.

GTX in most reference
Yeah, I should be more involved in this forum, but it is hard to keep up with all of the forums. If anybody is in Vegas, feel free to stop by! We always have something interesting going on in here!!! Shipping is free too!!1981 URQuattro with the TIAL GT35r.

How do these engines handle higher compression? (and are they audi il5 20vt)Yeah, and that is a good point. It is hard to quantify "spool" for every engine configuration. pretty well.
mine is around 9:1 but with a modified combustion chamber and i can run very good timing without knock. High compression is good for the car to be agile and snappy when off boost as well as faster spool, but the negative is that it becomes knock prone.Comment

Pretty much. Stock compression for anything running pump, 10.5:1 for anything running e85 with the occasional pump, 11.75:1 on anything dedicated e85. 11.75:1 2.6L Talldeck engines are REALLY fun.1981 URQuattro with the TIAL GT35r.

What about compression when running only on LPG + Water/Meth injection and around 1 bar of boost?Comment

Liquefied petroleum gas, but yeah, a mix of propane and butane. I'm doing a conversion from a N/A engine and wondering what compression ratio to have.Comment

The cooling effect is if you use inject it in liquid form. I'm plan to inject it in vaporised form, that's why I want to use water injection.Comment
