Fitted mine last weekend. Since you have to have many-jointed arms to do anything in the pedal box area, the best method i have found is to do the nut/bolt up as much as possible but still fit over the mechanism....it leaves fewer turns to do to tighten.

Anyway, it took less than 10 minutes to fit and adjust and the pedal now seems firmer.

What's the difference with the 5 speed master cylinder? I've not had a look at mine but does it still have the same weakness? I'm running a 6sp 01e and its fine.

Does this fix the inch or two of slack in the clutch pedal?

It only stops the flexi joint moving, so will remove whatever portion of the slack is caused by that.
